Is there a way to change DNS settings so the browser will connect to the Loadiine site for using the exploit and still block updates or do I need to self host Loadiine myself and have everything blocked by changing DNS settings!?
Go to loadiine.ovh and use the DNS settings suggested there.

That worked perfectly! Have you ever played Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash online? I have tried now a few times and it never seems to connect\find any others to play with?
I don't play anything online very often. When I do, it's usually just to check if something's working.

I started Mario Tennis and it connected online quickly. Once I chose my character, I did have to wait for a couple minutes to find an opponent... who completely trounced me.

When did you try it? I've been trying constantly the past few days and it never finds anyone!!? :-(

Right before I answered. Just tried again. On singles, fun, simple, casual, after losing to "brybry" I kept being offered the same opponent. I don't know if Nintendo Network makes any effort to match by region, but I'd say there's only one person out there.

Ah cool, I must give it a try again tonight! Last night I left it AGES and it still didn't find anyone!? :-(

Hey all, new to the scene with Wii U hacking and I have a few questions.

I think I get how to load the Homebrew channel, but not redNAND or loading from USB. I recall that I needed a 64GB SD card, so I do have that ready to go.

I just read the entire first page of the guide and it doesn't mention anything about how to create and automatically load redNAND? Is that a seperate thread/guide? I saw it explained what redNAND was, but not any word on how to do it. I'd like to set that up similar to how I have it setup on my 3DS so that it loads automatically and so it leaves the regular NAND alone. Is that possible?

I also didn't see anything on how to load from USB instead of SD? Is that a separate thread/guide? I'd also like to use the same hard drive I already have hooked up that I use for all my regular vWii ISO's and emulators if at all possible.

Edit: Maybe this thread answers my questions? Sorry it was a bit confusing because the title said this is the definitive guide but it sounds like it's actually just the starting point?

after months of collecting dust, I decided to use the wii u again, and now's the chance for me to start doing the mocha and haxchi thing
so I've read most of the tutorials, and some are quite different from the rest so I need someone to tell me if I get everything right

1. get a compatible DS VC from eshop, and open loadiine.ovh to turn the VC into haxchi channel
2. use haxchi to install mocha, and optionally install homebrew launcher as channel (this is safe right?)
3. stick with sysnand cfw and simply ignore rednand (although I need someone to tell why is this so, because I use emunand on my 3ds all the time)
4. optional, do all those steps above with USB unplugged to make sure everything goes to system nand, and plug the USB later on
5. use wupinstaller gx to install games or can stick with loadiine (loadiine now supports hdd as well right?)

thanks, very much appreciated

finally got haxchi installed using step by step on this tutorial https://github.com/FlimFlam69/WiiUTutorial/wiki
although skipped the mocha part as apparently it's not required and I'm not sure if I need to use rednand

You can temporarily gain access to homebrew on the WiiU with a browser exploit - no game needed.

If you're talking about adding the Homebrew Channel to the vWii side without needing one of the Wii games, you're looking for Wuphax. If wuphax is what you want, click your member name at the top of the page and choose Your Content. From that page you can see your previous posts in the wuphax v1.1 thread.

If regionhax wasn't done at the same time, and the browser isn't region free, he doesn't have a way to launch any hack.

Hi all,
I bought a 64GB micro SD card and no matter what I do and what adapter I use I can't get it to work in my Wii U? Windows can see it fine!? The guy who sold it to me is not reachable :-( Is there another way to install games? Does a USB stick with the files on it work the same as an SD card? I don't want to have to go and buy another SD card if possible!

Thanks,
M

Still new to this and trying to get my Wii U setup but I have a few questions.

Is there a guide for the Brazilian USB method still? I cant seem to find one and I was recommended to use it.

What is the difference between the Brazilian method and Disc2App?

What is the easiest method to just run my backed up WUD game files from a HDD?

Looking to take games I own and put them on a HDD to play them off of. Dont want to have to make them appear as games bought off the online eshop if possible

I have loaded up HAXCHI installer and selected my Brain Training DS game but i get the following message.....

"No already existing rom.zip found in game! Make sure to update your ds title and try again"

any ideas what the issue might be?

Make sure you reformatted it to FAT32, not ExFAT, and test the card in your PC with h2testw to make sure it's not fake.
Does a USB stick with the files on it work the same as an SD card?
No. You can use a FAT32 USB stick if you run the development FAT32 build of Mocha, but then you can only install to NAND, not a WiiU-formatted drive.

Since you haven't said that you've already updated it, it probably means what it says. There's no rom.zip in your copy of the game, so you need to redownload Brain Training from eShop and try again.

From the What is Haxchi faq: (follow the quote arrow)
Q: I'm using NDS Brain Training, but the installation doesn't work!
A: Brain training has 2 different versions. Delete your game from your WiiU's data management menu, and go to eShop to download the latest, update version.
