My son told me there was a disc stuck in the PS4 so I followed this:

https://www.playstation.com/en-au/g...y-eject-a-stuck-disc-from-your-playstation-4/

My PS4 was like the first two where it had a plastic thing. I tried using a screwdriver on the hole and found out that there was actually no disc in the console.

The problem is that now when I insert or eject a disc the PS4 makes this horrible noise. Any ideas on how I can make this noise go away? The manual eject hole says to push through the plastic layer but even so it never felt as if I was making solid connection with a screw but it must have done something.

Anyone else use this plastic manual eject hole?

Yeah it still reads the games, it just makes noises taking them in and out. What do you think I did to it? I was just following Sony's directions.

I did previously have an issue twice where it didn't see a game even though the disc was in. I think this was related to log ins and sleep mode and changing users though.

Its a grinding noise. I was initially worried the discs were getting scratched. I can try and make a recording later I guess.

Does it only sound when it's ejecting or inserting? Or does it always sound as soon as you use it?
I would check so not one of the gears for the eject and enter mechanism is grinding against a wall.

I thought someone had a tutorial to manually eject disc out of the systems. Personally i hate systems that don't have disc drive lids like the firs playstation, or ps2 slim or ps3 super slim (CODE NAME GRILL) I wish the ps4 had the same thing but no, everyone like the dumb suction disc drives. I hate it. :nayps3:

What if i need to remove the disc but don't have the system or or connected? I shouldn't have to worry about that, especially if my system stop working, have to ask someone with tools to try and get it out like a rescue mission. :wtf:

But if i remember correctly, ps4 has a manual eject disc function somewhere behind the system, so i suppose is forgiveable. Just not by much.

Op used that button which has caused the strange noise to occur.
