A lot of the foldering confusion stems from the fact that the organizational structure isn't surfaced until you click to Sync them.

The main screen just shows you ALL the games you have added to hakchi.

Once you click on Sync, it'll take you to the foldering screen where you can organize and change logos. If you back out of there after that, it'll ask if you want to save those changes. You can also click Sync and change the structure without actually having the console plugged in to flash yet.

edit - I also found I had to add all my SNES titles, then go organize them. Then go back and add Genesis, and repeat the organizing. Then finally went back and added the few hundred NES roms and rinse/repeat organizing.

Still don't see my games.... tried dragging the games in the folders once hitting sync and not luck.. All I want to know is where to add my genesis roms so they show up under my genesis folder in the structure???

Thanks

Try changing your folders to rightmost. My nes games weren't showing up until I did that for some reason.

Having a problem. I have 2.12 now (minus Retroarch), have my games and folders setup, but hakchi won't recognize my nes. I am at the Waiting for Nes Mini box, holding down Reset and Power, and nothing. I don't know what to do to fix this.

Us anyone else getting button input lag on the SNES? Genesis and Game Boy aren't as bad but SNES is most noticeable.

Just wondering if it's me (controller) or the software.

I've made some changes to Cluster's RetroArch module since default settings were not quite to my liking.
If someone needs it, it's available on GitHub

Here are all the changes:
  • Added Stella core for Atari 2600 emulation
  • System dir is now '~/system'
  • Core info dir is now '~/info', also added info files. They're really useful if you use RetroArch's GUI.
  • RGUI default browser dir is now '/usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi' instead of '/'
  • Disabled bilinear filtering for every preset
  • Enabled integer scaling
  • Greyscale palette for Gambatte core

i mean you can do pixel perfect with 4:3 with 1:1 (4:3 DAR) but i can't access it because i just have a nes controller and i can't access the retroarch menu
Changing this section in /bin/retroarch-watchdog seems to work:

Code:
# core provided ratio for CRT mode
[ "$filter" == "crt720" ] && ratio=21 && smooth=true && crt=1
# core provided ratio for 4:3 mode
[ "$filter" == "gpu720" ] && ratio=21 && smooth=true
# pixel perfect - 1:1 for pixel perfect mode
[ "$filter" == "ppu" ] && ratio=20 && smooth=false

thanks @pcm720 so this will also do the same effect as the hmod i've released with some changes on the config file, removes image smoothing? Just asking because i prefer to use yours :P

Its not released yet. But the word is soon..[/QUOTE
Here is my home screen... I quite like the look of it... and I used the same folder image for each sub folder as well... This was done through the hakchi2 interface...

Could you make one with mGBA as the GBA emulator? The one Cluster used is crap.

    I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
