I got so tired of waiting that I ordered myself a 3.55 PS3 (I own a super slim so I cannot use my own) to play ps1 games on digitally.
I can then use remote play for ps1 until adrenaline is updated.

Where did you get a 3.55 PS3 from?? I want a custom firmware PS3 so bad.

I know you're from the United States, but in Australia, searching "3.55 ps3" on ebay returns 3+ pages of phat and slim ps3 consoles for sale.

USA has larger population and density than Australia, surely there must be one for sale on there?

He did say that it would come out on February but that was before he worked on usb connection so it's perfectly understandable if the adrenaline update has been delayed since he hasn't said anything about it i still believe he will release it before this month is over but i will not be upset if he announces that he wasn't able to get it done in time.

I have a ps3 3.55 with cfw as well. How do you do the remote playing with ps1 games and do they have to be legit psn puraches?

I do not have the console yet, it arrives on Thursday. From what I seen of how to do remote play, Multiman should be remote play enabled so it should pass that on to any PS1 isos ran so it does not need to be legit purchases.
I could be wrong as I have been away from the PS3 scene since 2011 when I had to update my 3.55 console (it was not mine, the owner wanted it updated for newer movies and streaming apps) so it had to go legit.

I do custom firmware PS3 consoles and have never even thought of trying the remote play thing. Might be worth a go!

It is currently taking a backseat to work on and finish external storage support on the PSTV. After that, unless he has another megaton hack he wants to work on(possible), I imagine Adrenaline w/PS1 support comes next.

if you want to play ps1 games so bad why not just play them on pc?

no fiddling with custom firmwares required.
