Running into a MAJOR problem, and I'm not sure if it's PPSSPP or the patch or both. PPSSPP is randomly crashing to desktop with a 'This program has stopped working' prompt when I try to save/load using ingame saving. This has already wiped my progress multiple times and is pretty much making the game unplayable for me, and I'm not sure what would be causing it.

I dunno if it helps, but I do have Japanese save files from my time playing it on the PSP originally, which I moved over to my PC for playing with the HD textures.

But yeah, using the latest PPSSPP, not sure why I'm getting these crashes.

Can you give any further details? What is the "Version Number" on your PPSSPP? Are you using any cheats? The ISO patched without error, correct? Do you still get the same error using new patched version saves?

PPSSPP version is 1.3. Image is a clean one as far as I know, xdelta patched it fine. if I had to I could probably hook up my PSP and just create a clean image from my UMD copy of the game.

When I say saving crashes the game, I should say ATTEMPTING to save does it, and it is 100% random when it happens. I've had it happen in the Top Menu. I've had it happen in the middle of a stage. But when it happens, it always happens specifically when I access the Save/Load menu and choose to save. The moment it tries to read my savelist, sometimes I just get a CTD. And no cheats are being used.

I've tried various things to re-create it that I'd done prior when crashes happened, but they aren't happening now. The random element of it makes me afraid I'm just going to keep having it happen after a stage though (Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). It's already made me ragequit the stream I was going to do of it, unfortunately. I suspect the problem lies in PPSSPP itself, but I've no way to know for sure. :/

Already trying to re-create. No luck so far. I'll edit this post if anything happens.

EDIT 1: Managed to re-create it with my existing data, going to try with a fresh system/save file. The re-create with existing data involved setting a custom BGM, quickly backing out, and then trying to save. Going to see if the same happens with fresh data, but now that I think about it, I think this happened in my crashes prior. Setting custom BGM, then trying to save after.

EDIT 2: No crash yet, but I did get an oddity. An "Insufficient space to save" error, despite the drive in question having PLENTY of room. Re-trying brought up save prompts fine.

EDIT 3: Got a crash. It seems to be related to system data not saving properly (The full saving prompts don't appear) after changing music for a pilot via custom music.

When a game is translated, a lot of hacking occurs (due to new graphics, text compression, and other things), which tends to move pointers and memory addresses around. CWCheats (and cheat codes in general) target specific memory addresses, so by changing the address where a given value is stored, that code will no longer work as intended.

Easy workaround, really; load up an unpatched iso, apply the codes, then save at the intermission screen. Load up the save with the translated iso, and you get your effects. Mind you, this only works for static things like Ace Points, Capital, etc. Continuous things like ignoring level requirements for upgrades won't persist this way.
Wont it give corrupted save data or something like that? Currently i'm downloading the jap version to try your method, and just finished the 1st mission (or prologue i guess) with the translated version (patched permanently) rom

I'm not sure what causes the issue, but maybe I have a few ideas on what you can do:
1. Try making a quick save (savestate) before going into the save menu, that way if it crashes there, at least your progress isn't lost.
2. There might be something weird going on with the folder permissions (though the randomness of the issues is against this conclusion), try moving your PPSSPP folder somewhere (preferably a different drive) else (especially if its in C:\Program Files)
3. Try running PPSSPP as an administrator.

Hopefully one of these help solve or at least locate the issue.

As for the Vita discussion, since I don't have a Vita, and the problem only affects the Vita, there isn't really anything I can add there.

So far so good with the Ark(vita). My old save game also run perfectly fine.. Cwcheat? Just working good if i use on adrenaline(vita) with "original" iso. Save the game and and open it with ark(sd gundam english trnslation iso).. Booom the cheat will be there.. thanks to the team again..

Btw, did anyone try to add custom BGM using ark? adrenaline so far not working(with original iso)..

Nope. Most forms of corruption are usually name-based, but this translation patch leaves the text entry intact, so the game still recognizes all the character strings. As long as you save the game at the intermission screen (where you find the War Room, Gallery, Mobile Link options), the game will recognize your save. Well, as long as the translators don't change the game's ID code. But then it wouldn't even FIND your save, so you're good.

That and the devs already stated that saves at the intermission were transferrable to the translated version.

Is there a hidden requirement to activate Shadow War God on Rondo Mina Sahaku? I don't see her unit's stats going up. Currently I have her in an X Divider. I tried putting her in the Jet Dark Dagger L and that did not work. Anybody else having this problem?

It doesn't raise her stats. It raises any allied unit from the same group's stats, provided they're within her master area.
For testing, I had Mina in her Gold Frame as the master unit of group 1, I had the Dominion as her warship, and Lowe in the Red Frame was heading up team 1. Group 2, Gai in his Blue Frame. I deploy all three Gundams and check their stats.

Mina's stats are the same.
Lowe's ATK/DEF/MOB are all boosted by 12.
Dominion's ATK/DEF/MOB are all boosted by 12.
Gai's stats are the same.

The description of the ability in the patch should be tweaked a bit. It doesn't give her any benefits like it implies, but it benefits allies from the same group.

At first I thought this game was way too well balanced (jk actually, but bear with me). Then I met Heero. Now I question the wisdom of making THIS a multi-target attack.

Actually, the only thing that got toned down (everything else got amped up) between World and Overworld was cutting the attack damange of secondary targets from Multi-Target attacks down by half.

Also I have a question, is the message at the start of the game just a translated message or is it the dev team actually asking us not to record or stream the game? Also, I still haven't gotten around to getting the game as an ARK file on my Vita. Been playing it on my PSP while out of town. I'm back and will attempt to get it working.

I can tell you that the message at the start of the game has been translated. It's also visible on the JAP version. As I'm sure you know, the Japanese are rather touchy with multiple series in one game. Localization-wise too.

Update, the tutorial I was given does not support ARK on the Vita. This is no longer an issue for the translation team. Just thought i'd bring it up as a conclusion to my issues. I have been playing it on my PSP just fine and I guess I will continue to do so. Thanks again for everything.

@Negi_Springfield
this method worked for me it didn't work on your vita 3.60 with adrenaline ? wierd i just follwed the instructions to make a copy of adrenaline with a different id and a different name then just installed ark bubble for vita 3.60 then used qcma to transfer the psp game adrenaline and the new ark bubble to pc then transfered it back from pc to vita voila working ark bubble :)

OT: for those who have Adrenaline but don't have another psp bubble to install your ARK bubble with you can use vita auto-bubble to copy your existing adrenaline bubble
https://gbatemp.net/threads/auto-bubble-tool-thread.436112/

then use the
ARK bubble for Vita firmware 3.60.
http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=47678#p416112

then when your finished following the instructions transfer your game using QCMA to your PC then back and thats all you need and the ARK will show up enjoy sorry for this offtopic just wanted to help those vita users who wants to play this translation in their vita :)

Good Job, all the interfaces of the game look weird, so being untranslated only compounds the issue. This isn't the same for the Super Robot Wars Games, actually purchased two titles on the vita. Now that its translated, wow, what a difference, (grabbed the translation), once I'm done slapping together some more psp ICON0+PIC1 artwork I'll give it a go!
