Hardware Time frame of software upgrades?

Just my estimations.
1) SDXC: After Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
2) Capture 1920 * 1080 pictures/ 720p video: Around Mario Odessy, or mid 2018 at worst.
3) Online services (Lobby, voice chat, etc.): Around September.
By making these updates essential for the console to function, Nintendo eliminate any hack in 2017.

Sd card is suppose to be day one. So either day 1 or within march.
Recording will probably be sometime summer.
And online is suppose to be day one.
Cant give someone a preview if its not working.

Well, I'm assuming that it won't be bad. But, certainly not unstable. Nintendo wouldn't release a half-baked firmware. Also, the 3DS firmware wasn't that bad at launch. Sure, it was dull and boring, but it has evolved. Including the Wii; not so much the Wii U. Since it only got updates that added small features and patched exploits; and they don't seem to care any longer.

Which unlike your pc comes in as a single package. And sdxc is definitely a Firmware upgrade, and so are the rest two.

Each console had its own OS, with its own flaws, the switch having a browser or a sound player or wth enabled the hax on the 3ds. doesn't mean it's the same thing as 3ds.
One of the fucking PSP first exploits was a overflow or something like that on the picture viewer, the exploit would be launched through a gif image.
And yet when the ps3 was a thing or the ps4 is here, no one would just say stupid stuff like since you can see pictures on the console, hax is confirmed.

Firmware is the core OS
Software is the programs that run on it.

I.e.
Nintendo patching homebrew on the 3ds firmware.

The dlc, game updates are software.

Now the eshop and broswer are software which are updated and pack into the firmware. Then updated via a firmware update.
