I made an homebrew that combines wudump & wud2app by FIX94. So all the credits goes to him.

It dumps just the .app/-h3/.tmd/.cert/.tik files from the disc. It is much faster than full disc dump, because it only reads the necessary parts of the disc. (And reduce the chance to encounter bad sectors in case of scratched discs)

You can choose between SD/USB. (the same as in wudump that it is based on)
It dumps the files to /install/<DISC NAME>/ folder.
If you dump it to the SD it can be installed as is with wupinstaller y mode.

Just out of curiosity, why is it required to hace at least 23gb free on the device?
It isn't. I didn't change this warning. You just need enough space for the written files (which theoretically can be up to 23GB, so if you want to be on the safe side, you should have that much free space).
Anyway, I will change that warning.

Finally i can backup my Smash Bros. disc without [any] problems!
Thank you for this awesome tool!

Okay nice. But one question. Do i need to use a fat32 storage device or do i used my WII U formatted HDD? It doesn't automatically install from disc to HDD to play right away right? It just takes the data i need to use another program (The wupinstaller) to use it on to make it work right? Also the problem is the wii u won't let the user have 2 USB devices in the system at the same time. It keeps giving a warning asking you to do something about it and not use the system.

I guess this could be useful with the mocha CFW that allows HDD unformatted to be used, Except that isn't the point of this app is it?

Yes

No, it just dumps the gamedata into "install" folder to use wupinstaller

You always can use a SD card with enough space, 23gb at least

The point of this app is that you don't need a PC to get the wud file -> app files, it does everything Wii U side :)

OMG Thanks so much for this super useful homebrew!! :DD I can dump my Mass Effect 3 and install it right after the process is done! :'D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can someone add an Option to the Wupinstaller y mod, so you can DELETE the games in install folder after installation? That is something really useful I think.... at least for me xD

Yes

Yeah i see that now, i was just pointing out if it was maybe something like the wii flow homebrew that can dump wii game disc to wbfs format and install it on SD/USB to use in the wiiflow or any usb loader, it would be nice. With that i don't need another device or app to install the game to use. :)

This is great! Now this would be nice if it had a built in installer! Also would it be possible to dump digital titles?

3 Successes. One disc needed a really good cleaning to get one of the blocks.

Enhancement suggestions:
3 retries and error out instead of infinite loop (would save having to hard boot)
On error, record the last properly read block and file position in a file in the title directory, then resume there if that title is re-ripped.

With those changes, catching missed smudges and getting lucky with a lightly scratched area would be a lot less painful. Thanks for taking the time to combine the utilities.
