just patches for antipiracy, nothing worthwhile.
other then they stopped hardmods and our dsidowngrades. R.I.P @vb_encryption_vb for nintendo stripping him of a good source of income :(
Not really has most consoles are less than 11.3. Let's say ballpark figure 99.9% so Nintendo has affected his income by maybe .1 %:rofl2:
Actually it is more urgent than ever to have some type of <11.3 nand backup and a hard mod back up makes your system bulletproof.

I think he's referring to the fact that a lot of noobs don't know any better and update when they get a new console to get online etc... That and the fact that a lot of places are sold out of DS consoles through Xmas, so maybe 2nd/3rd quarter of 2017 the majority of brand new consoles will be on 11.3.

Some want hardmod just for the fact of safety. Than there is all brick fixes I've done since the release of safehax, than there is the users that just don't want to deal with installing it and send it to me and pay me to do it.

Also, homebrew is now fixed as of commit 700d5727 though you do have to rename the 11.2 otherapp payload to NEW-11-3-0-36-USA.bin/OLD-11-3-0-36-USA.bin yourself rather than rely on the automatic downloader/updater.

What does it mean for me that menuhax was patched? When I update my emunand to 11.3 nothing will change for me, because ai keep using menuhax on 9.2 sysnand to autoboot into emunand, right?

If you boot to emunand via menuhax then don't worry your fine, because menuhax was patched in 11.3, but your sysnand is still 9.x so your unnafected unless you accidently update your sysnand.

hey so no way to get homebrew without luma?
Actually no matter if its luma or not, you can't use anything that ends with .3dsx.

You can use CIA versions of them though.

@Arubaro yes, correct assumption. I can use my emunand backup in case, but would like to keep save games friends etc.. :(
An emunand backup backs up friends and nand related things, backup your SD card too and everything is safe.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
