Hacking Looking for a replacement for my Supercard for GBA

The saving is really unreliable with this card. I've just had way too much issues with it. I'm looking for something better, which actually saves the game in-game and has a functional Real time save. preferably a card with NOR, but not necessary. i'm willing to spend up to 100 bucks on this thing, it's just going to have to last me till the end of time.

The most compatible and easiest to use flashcard is the everdrive gba.
It was released last year I think and seems to work the best out of all gba flashcards, but because of that it is really expensive, around 100 bucks judging by my first search results.
You also don' t need to patch a thing with this, it's simply drag&drop.

Like @DarkCoffe64 said, emulating gba is easier, but for portables the best emulator is mgba from the emulation completeness aspect and the only handheld that supports it (at full speed )is the PS Vita which costs above 100 bucks.

PSP emulators are also alright, but especially games that rely on timing like mother 3 or rhythm tengoku didn't work that good for me, the classics like pokemon worked fine however, so it's really a matter of preference.

You can't go wrong with anything everdrive. Krikzz' build quality is top-notch. He uses quality FPGA IC's, the work on his boards (what I've seen) is always clean and correct, and he doesn't 'go cheap.' For example, the everdrive products use coin battery holders, not soldered-on clips, so you can replace the battery easily when the time comes. And continued support/updates is fantastic. So far I've bought an Everdrive N8 (NES/Famicom), SD2SNES (designed by Ikari_01, made by Krikzz), and ED64 2.5. That's about $400 spent so far, and I'm not done buying stuff from him yet. The GBA Everdrive is definitely on the list.

yeah, i was looking at that everdrive earlier. i forgot to mention that i'm not interested in that model because it sticks out of the GBA. was hoping for something that has the same dimentions as a normal cartridge

May I ask why you want a flashcard to emu gba games on the gba when you can do it on the psp plus more? Just curious.

I like to collect things like that. My GBA (in glacier, obviously) holds some of the best memories (game-related) from my childhood. In all honesty, i'd probably pull it out a few weeks out of a year and binge old games, but i don't want to get burnt out early because of faulty hardware.

I understand. I can't really be of help tho. I'm no flashcard expert. Still, IIRC, there should be some topics rewieving various flashcards. Try to search, might be useful if you can find those topics.

Then you buy the EZ Flash IV. Not as nice, but it'll do the job. If GBA Everdrive is the Cadillac of GBA flash carts, the EZ Flash IV is the Kia. Problem is, those are the only brands (realistically) that you're gonna find for sale these days. I've had the EZF-IV for a few years - it's tolerable. Actually I still prefer my old EFA Linker 256, even if the capacity is very limited. But the EFA Linker's been out of production for many years, along with all the other classic GBA carts.

That's correct (the rumor .. no idea if true). And it's one of the reasons I haven't bought the X5 yet - I've already got the EZF-IV, so I can hold out and see.
