About the internet in germany

I just moved to germany and i heared the internet here is really restricted , i sometimes download games movies etc. So can somebody aid me by telling me how can i use the internet here what is possible to download what's not and how can i avoid being tracked or have some penalties,(simply explaine the internet restriction policy)

avoid downloading warez from torrents, my family was fined with a huge bill (900 euros) because a download of a kids movie owned a part by a german company
i suggest to get a vpn, (with no logs) so you can avoid being tracked... isn't not "free" but it does the job...

They are perfectly fine to use, as long as you have a VPN.

Well, I live in Germany, but I never got cought downloading wares or stuff from torrents, and I do it all the time

As other have said, just find a good vpn to use and set up your firewall to where it will disconnect from the internet in case the VPN goes out.
As for a VPN, I recommend PIA as it is a good value for the money (like $30 for a year) and allows for various payments

Depends on what you're looking for. Movies, yeah, they're mostly in torrents.
But gamez...

Well, that's why you check the site you're browsing on the internet before downloading anything. If other people says its safe, then yer all ready to grab some booty! Yarrrrr!

I never used anything in my life, and never had any problems. But I guess here in Italy, da internet police don't even think 'bout it.

You really dont need a VPN. Just don't use german torrent sites some of the maintained by laywers or similar to get a quick buck ). There are more as enough direct download sites + jDownloader and you only need to google the release names (not hard to find at all).
And about downloading on Youtube you don't need to worry at all, if you download something its like some kind of private copy (at least for now)

Just do what I do which is AdBlock +Privacy Badger + Self Destructing Cookies + A good antivirus and just be careful

Thank you guys so now in summary what i learned is
Downloading video games is safe but off course without using torrent and the issue is with the new movies and music
Am i right ?
And speaking of torrent had anyone been finned for downloading a software or a patch or a video games by torrent or is it just for the movies and music which has a highly copyrights ??
