So I just bought a new 3ds game and dumped it onto the SD card with decrypt9. Now I have the .3ds rom file of it on my desktop, and I'm trying to found out how to get the private header of it.

I tried Gateway rom patcher but it says "nothing found in header" and is just F's. Any tools I could use to grab the header from the rom?

There's an option in decrypt9 to dump the private header itself - do that.

This way you don't have to dump the whole game.

Ah damn I'm blind I'll go back and check! And what file do I end up with then at the end? Is it a text file with my header or...? :)

You'll get an 80 byte bin file

Nice one got the .bin file! Now I'm pretty stupid with this so bear with me please :P

I'm looking to get the header (just the 32 letters/digits or whatever) as I'm doing the simple method of putting it into the sky 3ds config file (v.112) if you know which method I mean?

How do I get the header from the bin file? :)

I've never used sky3ds, but if you just want the first 32 bytes, you can open the file in a hex editor (e.g. HxD) and copy and paste the first two rows.

Ah yes I didn't think! Got the header on HxD! Man you're a legend, can't thank you enough!! :) :)
