Is the N2 Elite still an up to date product? I would like something like this for amiibos. I do not own an Android phone. Thanks.

Sure. There are some other options as well - Powersaves for Amiibo is a cheaper option and comes with a rewriteable tag that holds 1 amiibo (not all of them come with the rewriteable tag though)
The good part about it is that it can write to one-time use tags as well, so you can use it in place of an Android phone and buy like 100 tags from AliExpress for $40.
There's also NaMiiO, but I think N2 Elite is better.

Thanks for the quick reply. For the powersaves, do I actually have to own the Amiibo to get the data for it. Correct me if I am wrong, but for the N2 Elite, can't you download the data from various sources?

I own an N2 Elite thinking I would get use out of it until I realized I had absolutely no games that used Amiibos, and any games I did have, it wasn't worth setting an Amiibo up for it

Other than that, yeah, you can download .bin files for all the Amiibos fairly simply. I don't have an Android, so the USB reader is relatively convenient. I got mine nearly for free, but otherwise I think it's a pretty good investment, and one of the best alternatives for Amiibo related stuff

I bought the N2 Elite on Amazon and there was a huge mixup, and I got the USB reader only, no N2 Elite device. The seller refunded the entire order, let me keep the USB reader, and gave me no joke, an extra $100 as compensation. I paid money for the actual N2 Elite, but not necessarily out of my own pocket if that makes sense

Animal Crossing and Smash definitely. Mario Maker on the Wii U as well as Yoshi's Wooly world would benefit from the N2 Elite for unlockable costumes too. Theres a few games made just for Amiibos but I can't really think of anything at the moment that uses them in a big way

I am in the US. The only place that seems to have it is axiogame.com which ships from China? Reliable? Or is there a better place to get it from?

I'm from the US as well, but I got mine from playmods.co.uk. Honestly every site that was an "official reseller" of the N2 Elite looked really sketchy to me, but I took the chance and there were no issues with the order. I ordered mine July 8th and it arrived July 18th for reference

Hmm they don't seem to still have it. Can anyone recommend a place that sells it and has a recognizable payment method like paypal?

Ah also besides a place to obtain it, do you guys think it will work with the Switch? My thought is if no countermeasures were put in Wii U and 3ds firmware up until now, it'll probably also work with the Switch.

I sent some messages to some Chinese retailers but no response yet. They could be on Chinese New Year holiday for a few days. This thing seems hard to get right now. Alibaba wiped the listings from their site at some point recently. New policy, etc..

So far, they are adding signature to upcoming amiibos, I had added a temp countermeasure to the android app.

Yes, I read about the signature thing just a few hours ago. I'm thinking maybe I should hold off buying an N2 Elite until it is confirmed that it works with the switch. How confident are you in the countermeasure?

So are all those amiibos that are in the database going to have to be re-uploaded?
Yup, might have to. The thing is so far signatures are only added on newer amiibos, so we are unsure how are they going to be added to older amiibos. So for now, it's ok to use the database that is going on.

I'm looking to buy an N2 Elite and tried some official retailers. I had a question about payment and shipping and except for the Australian store which is out of stock, nobody responded. Makes me question their legitimacy. The Chinese stores might be on vacation for the new year but they should post that on their webpage if that were the case. So I really have no place to buy this from it seems.

I only have the USB writer, not the app (iphone user here). Im concerned there has been no activity on their site. I expect the thing is dead. If Nintendo added an extra signature to new amiibo it shouldnt affect the old ones. All the old bins will still work. The only way they could stop the old bins from working is to stop the real deal from working too. But if there is a new signature or something that's coming to new amiibo I dont expect an update to add support for it, which is unfortunate :(

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
