I though someone tried this with no gain from it. It's tied to the Game ID - To the savefile. Only a new game from 0 can repair this.
Oh.
Swear to Arceus if on Friday I go online and I get this error code I'll flip shit

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Trying this, but it gives me "The saved game data is corrupted". Probably Secure Value.

If it's tied to the savefile, one can change it back.
It's a "defense mechanism" of sorts
It did that for me too, but ultimately deleted the save, restored and had my old save back

You see this? It's the Game Sync ID, it's the Friend Code for the Global Link. As far as I can deduce Global Link takes your Trainer ID, Trainer Secret ID and maybe other parameters to sync and store your save info online.

So in theory changing the Game SYnc ID must give you new access, right? Well it seem like NO. Someone tried this, right @EvilMakiPR ??

Here's how the unbanning method worked in ORAS era:

1. Unlink the game from Global Link.
2. After it's done, back up your old save.
3. Start a new game (if you're paranoid enough, you can even change your OT/TID/SID to match your old one), then reach the Festival Plaza.
4. Do a Game Sync with your PGL account and retrieve your ID.
5. Back up your new save file.
6. Open your new save file with PKHeX. Find the Game Sync ID field and copy that.
7. Open your old save file with PKHeX. Find the Game Sync ID field and paste the one from the new save file.
8. Restore your old modified save
Voila! You're unbanned with no data lost

That's why I say that something in your current save instance gets modified, because nothing online-related has been banned or changed.

Did they try changing Game Sync ID before relinking or after? Is the new Game Sync ID the legit one retrieved from servers or just random?

There, save from 01/17 restored. Let's see if I get the ban error.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

No success. Still getting the error.

I'll do some Hex comparing with both @EvilMakiPR saves, as he has 2 saves pre and post ban, I'll do research to see if there is some hex offset that changes specifically or what

My theory. After the save gets online, something gets modified in the save, preventing it from doing online things. Hence also why my save from 01/17 didn't work.

Are you sure? Have you tested? Because there were very similar bans in ORAS era when restoring your old save did nothing

That's why I asked for confirmation, what I said was theory based on the assumption said ban is similar to the soft ban given to trading and battling disconnects. Seems that's not the case.

This ban is exactly like the one in ORAS era with only a number of error being changed (090-0211 to 090-0212) which is understandable since the bans in ORAS and SM don't interfere with each other

Can confirm that to work on a backup savefile that has never been conected to the festival plaza/gamesync before

Hacking a pokemon save file is cheating and ruined the Pokemon experience for me. I learned my lesson and will never cheat again. The fun came back.

The fun from wasting days and days of your life breeding for perfect and shiny mons?

Both saves I uploaded are after I linked the game with GL but one was before I got banned and the other one was after. I got more saves backed up on my PC and SD. I also said I have one right before the Elite4 with not even a single bit changed and no GL Sync so its SyncID is all 0s. I just loaded that save file. Right now just finished the Elite4.
