I didn't think a hardmod could be used on a console if there was no previous nand backup? Unless I'm mistaken

Aah, yes. Essentially, being now a hardmod isn't needed if you had a backup anyway, or not I guess.

It saved me from the format brick. I had to send my 3ds to hunshamer... Which took a LONG time to get it back.

Real story, I used tinyformat, but it ended the same way.

just so you know, if you load up decrypt9 go to Sysnand options--->System Save Dump---->Dump configsave.bin
do a system format then boot back into decrypt 9 and go to
Sysnand options--->System Save Inject---->Inject configsave.bin

that will allow you to perform a format and bypass the initial setup

Does it matter if the 3D LED works or not? You don't need it to complete the setup, right?

ive heard it does on anything below 6.0 because before that it forces you to put up the 3d slider to show off the effect.

if the light is just broken i dont think software will detect it...
