what error do you get? when do you get it? right after hitting system update, halfway through, at 99%?

did you recheck network settings?

I get the error right after the update finishes. As for the error, it only says "An error has occurred"

in the past, i've had updates fail once in a while like that. it usually worked eventually, though one time, i think the version of luma installed was the issue.

I'm gonna say this again since it seems like nobody saw it. After I install and delete all the tickets, do I do the SysNAND restore or the finalizing setup?

it's really up to you
no one forcing you to do anything
do you want homebrew apps?
do you want emulators?
do you want full region free?
do you want...ahm..piracy?

Repeating yourself because no-one replied in 2 minutes?

Well you shouldn't have any tickets to restore. If your nand is functional, you can try restoring it again - but will likely get the same responce as at 2.1. So you should just complete the rest of setup - which atm is to keep trying to update

Look, I'm half idiot. So sorry. So DON'T do the SysNAND restore and just skip to the finalizing setup?

That was said in jest.

Personally I'd try it again, in case the first time was a bad copy/paste. But yea the 9.2 ctr is for those without a usable backup. If your nand.bin isn't seen as usable then just treat it like you don't have one.

I have now completely installed CFW. Thanks to everyone that helped me out! Time to get NTR, NTR Video Streaming, Randomize Pokemon Moon, and maybe... just maybe... get freeshop.

Once you go CFW you can't go back.

What was the first thing I did when I bought a New 3DS? Well, I downgraded it of course. I need my Luna fix! Plus it helps with editing Pokemon games by dumping the saves and transfer via FTP without needing to use HBL

Yeah, I just figured that out. I told you guys, I'm half idiot.

Also, I should've titled this thread better. I already knew before I started that CFW was worth it. Shoud've titled it something like"I'm afraid to install CFW" or something like that.
