Folks

I`ve just heard about legit CIAs and decided to give it a try.

I have old 3DS XL with - 10.1.0-27U Firmware.

I have been using SKU3DS ( with one button )

I want to just install as much of those legit CIAs as possible but do not want to mess with downgrade FW, CFW etc..

Here is what I think I should do.

1. Install HomeBrew using this web: http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ using SoundHax method.

2. Put FBI and legit CIAs on my SD card

3. Install CIAs via FBI.

So does it sound reasonable on my 10.1 FW?

thanks for your feedback I though i would better ask than brick my thing.

V.

installed HBL via Soundhax + FBI previous version 2.4.6 I was able to install legit CIAs! ( FBI version 2.4.7 reqiures asthax or waithax )
sweet!

So... I have a hacked 3ds, but no matter what when I try to download pokemon sun or moon I get lots of error codes, but somehow I managed to download it in a 8gb sd card, my question is can I transfer only the game to my main sd card? (the one I am having problems to download)

If I had an sd card that gave me problems in any way, I'd stay away from it as far as possible. they are so cheap, just get a new one if you cannot use the one you are having success with now...

I´m having trouble understanding how to use the no lines patch in sun and moon
someone halp me pls

Ver? 1.1 or initial?

Initial: You can use a code.bin provided on those good sites and they'll explain to you how to use them. (You literally just drag files around, enable an option and boom, no lines patch) OR you can use the NTR Plugin (Sumohax)

1.1: There's a thread about it on the tutorials section IIRC. (Same thing as initial, but you're just using a nightly compiled luma build to do it : .ips)
Not sure if Sumohax's no lines patch works on 1.1 otherwise you can just use the NTR Plugin as well

I´ll take any, planning on randomizing it anyway
Could you please link that thread you mentioned? pls

Hello, I need some help, i have an iTouch DS Flashcard, (I've already downloaded the files from the Ultimate GBATemp "wiki-like" page where all the links exist for the different flashcards) Now, what should i do with these files if I want to use my iTouch DS Flashcard on my 3DS? I haven't found an updated tutorial or something like (I Have Luma)
Thank you very much guys!

Those are probably firmware files. They need to go on the flashcard's SD card.

If you put the card in the 3DS and it shows up with a valid game icon, then it should work. Otherwise, you may have to use another launcher such as NTR Launcher or TWLoader (an NTR Launcher frontend) to start it.

I'm just curious for when I share 3DS homebrew stuff with friends, but is it possible to permanently Brick your 3DS or New 3DS if you follow the instructions word for word? I know you do a full system backup early on in the process of getting the ARM9 loader, but is it possible for the fasthax to brick your device where you can't just recover it like at later points, so long as you're following everything word for word in the guide?

Fasthax and Safehax by themselves can't brick your system. They're just exploits that allow for running ARM11 kernel and ARM9 code, respectively.

Worst that'll happen if those exploits fail is the system will crash and you'll need to hard-powerdown.

When updating FBI, I deleted the old one because I didn't want two versions on my o3DS.
Because FBI was a health/safety inject, now it's asking for a firmware update. I find this annoying, so is it safe to update my FW to get the health+safety app back?
(Running Luma3DS on 11.2.0-35U)

Is it possible to delete the Health & Safety app with FBI? How much space does it free up?
Yes, after downloading the updated version I ended up with two FBI's. In the new one I did this:
Titles > [SELECT] > Disable all titles from showing except "NAND" > Select "FBI" in the list > delete

Wait, so deleting the Health & Safety app will cause the system to ask for a firmware update? Even if you're on the newest firmware?
Yep. The system will always ask for a firmware update if you're missing any system title.
I didn't learn this until after the fact, of course.

I'd like an answer to my question though, will updating risk a brick?
