Hello, I recently started to work on developing for 3ds and was wondering. Is there anyway to make a 3ds not only think its a dev_system. but actually be able to use dev_commands such as opening up nulled eshop's to test if it works. without replacing the actual apps.

You need an actual dev unit for that kind of things plus to be signed the SDK. Panda/Snake unit, I'm not sure which is O3DS/N3DS

If the bootrom was dumped from a dev unit maybe that could provide more keys:ph34r:

I know Luma3DS has a mode that tricks the system to think its a devunit. and i already have a signed sdk. i know the most id miss out is debugging my programs over usb. i was wondering if say a dev eShop and a retail eShop have the same titleID or something like that

Is it okay to talk about which dev_units are available? thats not against any rules right?

I don't know if the Dev eShop and retail one have any differences, over than signing apps and things to it.

Not that I know of? Nor would I think so.

Well, the bootrom is on its way soon with details, but I doubt it'll be from a Dev unit. You can install A9LH on a Dev unit, so I don't see why not

dev eshop is essentially a nulled out eshop it serves no real purpose other than testing.
===CTR===
CTR Nintendo 3DS
SPR Nintendo 3DS XL
FTR Nintendo 2DS

===PANDA===
SNAKE New Nintendo 3DS
CLOSER New Nintendo 3DS X

but the least costly one is $325 so yea .-. and this one doesnt even have video output over the system.

That would make sense, if you check the home menu with the dev menu homebrew, my N3DSXL has always been "snake"
because the devmenu basically does a console check and says "oh its this console with this codename" btw retail or dev?

Awesome so a Jap. New 3DS LL ive always wanted to get a New 3DS cause those ones have those cool cover plates.
Well mine is an XL.I got it because there was no pearl white XL unit available yet so I jumped for an out of region one. With cias and other workarounds, there was no reason not to. I eventually even changed the region to US.
