hi sorry if this is in the wrong forum!
I downgraded my n3ds from 11.2 and installed cfw etc using the original micro sd.
I bought a bigger sd card so I'm transferring the files from the old sd card to the new.
I've copied and pasted most of them but it refuses to copy the Nintendo 3ds file.

Any ideas?

Try doing a full format on both SD cards using SDFormatter. Another problem I had before was that folders with a large amount of files and folders inside of it wouldn't copy, so I copied each folder one by one.

Format SD to fat32 set as primary and cluster to 32kb. Personally I use 64 because it feels like it loads faster.

you sure, why format the older card? they will loose data? and if both are formatted what would be left to copy?

Just back up the old SD to your PC. I have 2 backups of my SD, just to be sure. a couple of weeks ago my card became corrupted so I just did a full format and copied everything back.

The sd card is fat32 and I've tried to paste the Nintendo 3ds files seperately but it comes up with 'can't complete the operation because some data can't be read or written (error -36)

On a Mac by any chance -36 seems to be a mac issue - look up dot_clean
