Why are there multiple files in multiple places with similar names?

Hey,

I followed the guide to #16, after downgrading to 2.1, and got stuck with this error when trying to install A9LH: http://i.imgur.com/QUM4egw.jpg

Any idea what could be the problem here, or if I flubbed anything?

Like the arm9 the arm9loaderhax and I forgot the other one. Your SD card file had some I'm it then other zip files have similar names and then we sometimes go back to other zip files to replace the ones we have with those same names.

Hello,

I followed the guide and got stuck on step 16.
I have an error message saying : firm0.bin deosn't exist or has the wrong size.

I don't know what I did wrong, and I didn't see similar issue :/

Any idea ?

Thanks

Because some people copied "arm9.bin" and "arm9loaderhax.bin" from SafeA9LHInstaller to their microSD root and got stuck being able to only boot in SafeA9LHInstaller. So they had to get the correct one. The Luma3DS one.

15. Open your browser, do the initial setup, click URL and go to "http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin". (If your screen glitches, refer to the bottom of the post)

ok...but my wireless is disabled...and I'm with the New 3ds ...What should I do? (Im such a noob...shame)
In the guide it states to take off the battery for a few seconds

Oh, so they use similar files then?

Sorry for what must seem like the most noob-iest post here, but I have a few questions that I would appreciate being answered. (My system is a N3DS XL on 11.2U) 1. Is there a good chance to brick assuming I follow the steps exactly as they are written in the original post? 2. I haven't been here for a while (Last time I was here I was downgrading from 10.0U when it was new and installing an emunand to my OG3DS -rip-) does A9HL have the same abilities as RXTools such as "running unsigned cias" and custom themes? and finally 3. I remember hearing some things about how a 3DS with A9HL would only launch with an SD card plugged in and how it was a modification of sysnand, is this still true?? Thank you in advance. :yay3ds:

"arm9loaderhax.bin" is the arm9 payload a9lh reads to boot.

1. No
2. Yes
3. With this guide (And Plailect's), that's not true anymore.

It's because the files that different things/exploits load are essentially hard coded:
via browser loads /arm9.bin /arm11.bin
via a9lh loads /arm9loaderhax.bin by default
via payloads /luma/payloads/*_*.bin

There's also .dat and .nds files - and all tools that can be loaded in different ways typically compile all the versions and release them in 1 zip.
