A backup at that point wouldn't be of much use so you can skip that part. Or remove the 9.2 ctrnand.bin - backup sysnand - unmount sdcard - copy backup to PC - add 9.2 ctrnand.bin back and transfer it.

Okay so on the ctrtansfer guide I can skip Section 3 Steps 1-5?

In regards to files that I should backup and keep safe in my computer I only have a copy of my Nintendo folder and the otp.bin file. I was reading and someone said to save a copy of stuff such as nand, is there something I should keep a copy of? Other than the 2 files I already saved on my PC.

Some people like having a clean nand backup [pre-a9lh] in case they need to restore for whatever reason. Having a nand backup of any kind is useful just to have in case you may need it at some point.

If you're talking about the 9.2 ctrtransfer one, follow only Section 1 and Section 3 steps 1, 2 and 4. If you have enough storage in your microSD, also follow Section 3 step 3.

Anyone else stuck at updating on the ctrtransfer guide at step 10 after making the nandmin and deleting the 9.2.0 ctrtrbin?

The pre-a9lh was the old way to remove a9lh. The new one is launch SafeA9LHInstaller and press START to uninstall it.

That is indeed what I am talking about. I did Sections 1 & 2. I can delete all the tickets from Section 2 then? Thanks again for all of the help!

Only if you're going to follow Section 3 Step 3 and will restore that backup after the ctrtransfer.

Well am I actually able to save the ticket files to my PC and then do Section 3 Step 3 and onwards? Or would that break things?

Just skip step3. The reason it's like that and worded that way in the guide is that it's usually followed from a stating point of 9.5 to 11.x rather than 2.1 [i.e. backup of 11.x being made; downgrade to 9.2; downgrade to 2.1; a9lh; restore to 11.x via backup]

Additionally you're current system [ctrnand transferred 2.1] has no tickets [worth] backing up.
If you had tickets previously on 11.x you would've needed a nand.bin backup or ran godmode9 before the decrypt9 ctr-transfer

The pre-a9lh was the old way to remove a9lh. The new one is launch SafeA9LHInstaller and press START to uninstall it.
I know, but still some people if they keep 1 backup it would be the one made pre-a9lh. Obviously you can just remove a9lh but there's other stuff that would need cleaned [tickets etc. via tiksweep...]
You should keep at least 1 nand backup after a9lhing the system just for worse case

In that note how do you make nandcopies and how do they look in the SD? At one point I copied all my files to my PC but it was before I used soundhax. Just out of curiosity. I like to learn things I'll never really use xD

I can't imagine why that wouldn't be possible.

You mean EmuNANDs. Just use EmuNAND9. It'll format your microSD and create a different partition for the EmuNAND.

I think decrypt9/emunand9/hourglass9 can all make nand backups - they are ~1GB in size [if NANDmin] up to ~2GB and I believe they are default dumped into the /files9 folder.
You'd need to load one of those via a9lh payload [or via safehax/9.2 system]

Make sure you have the correct payload and soundhax file.

yeah I double check.
In your tutorial does not tell to rename.

I tried to rename and get the same....Only one time the up screen goe to green...but for half a second...then goes to home screen and display a error and a button ok to reboot.

I updated today , like you sad. You think nintendo puts something to block that exploit?

Nah, some homebrew take a few tries to boot. And I fixed the guide not telling to rename to otherapp.bin error.
