OK, I want you to choose which RetroArch parameters in this list are the best ones, since I'm stuck having to pick one.

1. English VC message, and automatic save & load state
2. Custom bottom screen, and automatic save & load state
3. X toggles menu, and automatic save & load state
4. Just English VC message

You need to have custom fw. What firmware are you on?

firmware is on:11.2.0-35U and i have homebrew via soundhax

Unfortunately you can't install non legit cias on 11.2. If you wanted to install cias you would need to downgrade your system and set up a cfw. To do that you would need to solder connections to your nand and do a hardmod, or do a dsi downgrade using another cfw 3ds that you have on hand.

It's possible going forward, just pay attention to the scene and don't update your 3ds if a new update comes out any time soon.

I injected Knuckles' Chaotix and it worked fine, likely because I have 32X bios on my SD card.

The injector didn't take Sonic CD as a .bin file, though.

You're not supposed to inject 32x roms with this injector. I'll make another one just for 32x, with their own 3D banner and a proper button mapping configuration.

The 3ds has a retroarch psx port and n3ds runs ff7 near full speed with cfw.
