Being new to the 3DS hacking scene I tried to install a ticket on the homebrew form of CIAngel on a non-CFW 11.2 o3DS. It gave me a message telling me that I needed kernel access to do this. Will Fasthax grant me the permission to do this and if so how?

watch the 33c3 video or read one of the several threads that already exist about fasthax and you'll get your answer

Also, most newcomers don't really understand what "releasing an arm11 exploit" means; it's not a 3dsx/hacked save/song that someone compiles you run, but source code that must be adapted and added to any 3dsx (like FBI or dsiwarehaxinstaller) that takes advantage of more privileges, so there's an extra step

A little miscommunication, I'm not really a newcomer as i've been lurking on gbatemp for months at this point. I have basic understanding of stuff. I guess the point that i'm trying to make is that I have no idea what that extra step is please tell me senpai.

As always, if it's not yet released, "the next step", is to wait till the devs released it. :)

to clarify a arm11 exploit will allow you to install a handful of "legit" cia files, but not any and all cia files, only signed cia files that come from console bundles, I'm sure a quick search of "legit cia" will provide a list of what games are available

So since ciangel creates legit CIAs will i be fine?

CIAngel doesn't create legit cias. Legit CIAs are CIAs from games who come already installed on a system. There are only 28 legit cias AFAIK.
idk how you count redundant games from different regions but there are at least 49, most notably a certain recent ultrapopular title within the last few days has had the tickets dumped for great justice

Nevermind that. While we're still on the subject of fasthax, will this lead to any advances in downgrading (i.e. no hardmod or second 3ds needed???)

well there is dsiware downgrading if you have a second already hacked 3ds, but AFAIK without a new arm9 exploit the 11.x anti downgrade features lock out the ability to do arm11 downgrades
