Hi
I have 5.5.0 spoofed to 5.5.1 and I used to block update sites on my router but since Virgin forced me to update the hardware I can no longer implement domain blocking so instead I now use DNS-U for fixed DNS lookups.
My young son has an original Lego Dimensions among other games that I normally update with WUPInstaller.
Now, after the latest update some of the content is DLC only available from within the game or so it seems. I can use NNUPatcher to access the eShop and there is no reference to Lego Dimensions on the entire shop?! So cannot download that way.

How can I install the DLC, which is free in the game as the characters have already been bought, ... the area where you update in the game just gives the check your wifi error, this is even with the eShop NNUPatched at the time. Is there a way to get the DLC just like the updates and install with WUP? Or should I disable the DNS-U whilst I update?

The latter if you don't have Haxchi, CHBC or RedNand (or patched SysNand). I recommend CHBC since it's offline and doesn't require running anything. If you have (or know how to get) any of these things, you can download it using Wii U USB Helper. If you don't, feel free to ask

Or just disable your DNS to update, it's the simplest option. Still, you should get Haxchi or CHBC, it's the future of Wii U Hacking (In the most dramatic fashion possible:P)

Oh, and by the way, you should update to 5.5.1, there's no difference, but future games will only work with 5.5.1

Yes, poor Wii U man, and Color Splash requires 5.5.1 too (at least it has it on the disk, so I'm assuming it requires it)
Yes such a shame that a great system failed so badly and had so little great games on it. As for color splash yes it requires 5.5.1. on a side note I loved color splash right up to the final battle with bowser. I have tried to beat him several times but fail miserably. Fuck you bowser lol

They could have done so much more with it, but the marketing and power crippled it (especially the marketing, , why?)

here in Scotland I have never seen a wiiu advert for the system or any of its games on TV or in magazines etc the whole time it has been out yet the 3ds is advertised all the time and the PS4 and xbone are advertised even more no wonder the wiiu failed.

Ahh thanks for your response.
Yeah gonna have to bag a DS game and CHBC.
Once I've done that are you saying that WiiU USB Helper should get me the DLC for Dimensions (unsigned)?

Yes, just be sure you have the link to the wii u key site and the ticket file from that iso site (I'm barely allowed to say any of this)

I have used "that site" and even tried the latest rar file.
However, how do I get Lego Dimensions to show, it doesn't come up in the wiiu usb helper search?

You need to add the link to the titlekey site, which will allow you to download dlc, and unsigned games

There's a button named "Change file location"

I used the change ticket location to go from titlekey site to the downloaded rar.
Both work ... 9 lego games list, however, no lego dimensions?

OK then, we'll have to do this the other way:

Do you have JNUSTool? Get it if you don't. I'm assuming your console is EUR, if so, make a bat file and type
"java -jar JNUSTool.jar 0005000C-10195D00 -dlEncrypted", make a blank file named title.tik in the folder where it'll be downloaded, and copy all of that to SD:/Install/Make any folder you want/. Then install it with WUPInstaller (if you have CHBC)

By the way, you probably know this, but still.....

If you don't wanna do any of that and you bought the dlc, you can just disable dns-u temporarily

Ahh JNUSTool ok will try that. I presume it won't be signed, hence needing a patched Nand.
Is there a reason why updates don't need signing but DLC does?

Updates already come with the title.tik and they don't have a console-specific code, while DLC and games do (Everything that's free in the EShop can also be installed without patched NAND, Nintendo just assumes you have to the game, and doesn't sign the update)

You might not even have to create a title.tik, it may come with one that isn't signed just for the lulz, I don't remember. Just check the folder, if it's there, great, if not, make a blank one

BTW, I'm having a blast just down.....buying all the games and DLC I haven't played with that app, from the ISO site, and JNUSTool. Combined, and you have all games that ever came out on the Wii U and some that didn't (like Modded and Injected VC, and fanmade games!)
