I am curious, what are the odds of bricking using Plailect guide on a 2ds?
Also, what is the Nintendo 2DS's current stock firmware? Have any links to ones on 10.7 and below, or are they always that way in the store because they are older units?

Small enough for me to justify installing A9LH out of boredom

There are a lot of instructions of what to do and each has to be done in order, but they're clear and concise. If you have all the files to hand before you start (so you're not deviating away from steps), I don't see how you can go wrong. Saying that, people do. But the reward at the end is worth the couple of hours it may take.

Read the instructions again and again. Then, as you are doing it, read the instructions again and again. Backup your memory card often, especially after creating a nand backup. It will take some time the first time, but it's very simple if you are on an easily exploitable software version. If you've rooted complicated phones or anything like that without one click, it's similar in difficulty.

I managed to get a new 3ds brand new that was bought and shelved over a year ago. It ended up having 9.9. It was a breeze from there.
