That would require REing home menu and anything else that may be limiting titles (see: my previous post).I'm curious if it has even been traced down in the code where the 300 limit occurs. You would think that if it has, that some coding patch could be accomplished by Luma upon booting the 3DS to disable or change the 300 title limit.

Ahh gbatemp, back at it again with the questions that you don't need to worry about. Daily reminder that 99% of people who ask questions like this ask it because they are having the issue, not because they are curious (why people assumed that you had 300 titles installed). Short answer: you have been given solutions. Long answer: no one is going to RE the console to lift the 300 title limit unless they are paid or it actually becomes a widespread issue. If it becomes a widespread issue, they will probably look for another solution instead of REing everything which could possibly limit titles.

Well it's a very obvious graphical limitation isn't it? There are 300 tiles in all, so clearly if you place something (a badge) on one, of course it'll take up graphical space. To fix the 'issue' you'd basically have to make a custom home menu.
Well I must need locking up in an asylum for the rest of my days as I wouldn't mind having more than 300 3DS games if it was possible. It's nice to have a choice, that's why I carry full rom sets of other systems on my 3DS
I ran into this on my O3DS as well when that kind person on that "ONE SITE" started to inject roms to CIA format. That was about 2 years ago now, but I feel your pain as I basically wiped my emuNAND back then and started fresh as I didn't know about the title limit then.
I do think my N3DS will hit that limit soon too, and yes I do play most of them and "hoard" the rest for that one time I feel like playing a game of said type. I'm going to keep @sieroi's suggestion of GridLauncher in mind though, that launcher seems interesting.

I have wondered that too. I don't know why people call it a useless thing to patch it. In my opinion and i'm not judging anyone who uses this but you can have your own user string in settings and I see that as a useless thing to do
And it seems more like a specific file that holds the menu data from the sounds of itI personally think and I could be wrong that the limit is not down to ram, hell even the Wii U has a title limit of 300 and that has more ram then the 3DS. I feel your pain tho. I also hot the 300 limit once with VC games and had to restart from scratch

again, we don't care about why or even if you have 300 titles, but if you want to request it, go to the homebrew suggestion thread, don't ask here because we're all gonna tell you the same thing, use a title manager to launch them. until this becomes a widespread user problem, no one is gonna patch it.
and the version string is pointless unless you are a noob because it tells what nand your in, which is also pointless cause a9lh exists.

If i was wondering about homebrew then yeah I would ask there but i'm not, please reread the title
I'm confused by why you're all starting from scratch though. When you hit the 300 title limit, you can just go to your system settings and delete the titles you don't want anymore. No need to start completely over. (At least that's what I've done, even when i go over the 300 title limit, it works, the extra games will reappear as you delete games that were still showing on the system menu).

When you batch install 50+ titles, kind of hard to remember what other titles you had installed that were overwritten or removed.
Because I want to keep the games just in case I want to replay them. We all have our reasons why
Yes, you can keep every single one, just use a title manager. It's prolly Nintendo who did this on purpose cause they don't exactly expect a legit user to have 300 legit eShop gamesMartinDocNewland post: 6943451 said:Because I want to keep the games just in case I want to replay them. I understand that, but you can delete titles you don't want and as you do more titles reappear and you can choose to keep or delete those. If you installed a lot at once I realize that could be frustrating, still that shouldn't be reason to start completely over.
