Hacking Official Haxchi v2.5u2 - a persistent WiiU hack

i have brain training game already on my wiiu.i havent paid for a ds game.

Then probably its the old version. Doesn't work with the old version. Go online to eshop and download the latest version or another DS game that is compatible.

It can go to USB if you have one plugged in.

I was just trying to update Haxchi from 2.3u1 to 2.4 for the "sysmenu" entry...I think it worked(?) but it froze my WiiU at the end of the haxchii installation process with a blackscreen

So you downloaded Dr Kawashima Brain Training. It's on sysnand (you can check in WiiU data management). You have haxchi 2.4 downloaded. One folder on root of SD card. The other in wiiu/apps/haxchi. You start HBL and load the haxchi .elf? What happens? You should have to press A and then it should auto detect your game. Then you press A again to install.

the problem was the haxchi folder was in another folder so wiiu wasnt picking it up to copy files

You got brain training installed on USB too? Check your USB (when plugged in of course). If you have brain training on there - delete it. Can't think of any other reason why that would happen.

how come people were saying you should only install VC games to redNAND? Is that not a thing anymore now that sigpatch exists?

yes, it was because the first CFW which had sigpatch was redNAND.
now sysNAND has it too, so you can install to the one you want (sysNAND or redNAND).

redNAND is used as a way to prevent bricking your sysNAND (installing games, trying things, developing, etc.)
it's always safer to use redNAND when hacking.

Hey there, another one for the pile, but I direly need help.

While following this guide by the lovely FlimFlam69, I ran into trouble during Step 15

Step 15) Launch Haxchi. After about 30 seconds, it should reload the system menu. This means that you're now running HaxchiFW.​

During that, instead of booting back into the Home Menu, I boot into the Homebrew Launcher.
I've tried multiple things in an attempt to fix the problem, but so far no luck, and always with the same result: Launching into Homebrew Launcher.

Here's a comment chain on reddit where FlimFlam tried to help me, as well as another user.
It's kind of a mess, though. Sorry.

Does Haxchi CFW not support FTPiiU Everwhere? It works with Mocha but with Haxchi the slc/usb folders are empty and cannot be listed.

noticed this today as well, i thought haxchi sysmenu option supported this until today

I don't know if it's already a known " glitch ", but Haxchi doesn't change the VC game icon + title on the Quick Launch menu.
