I've posted in the HOW-TO in the Homepass relay thread, though haven't received any help on it. I'm currently running into this problem on my SpillpassPi

And I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any solutions.

I've tried to set up home pass via RPI but it's too complicated and it messes up network settings too much. I gave up but found my old DD-WRT router and it works brilliant.
I can use my RPI for other activities :D

From error you show it seems Wi-Fi drivers are missing? Have you tried reinstalling your wi-fi ?

I'm not sure how to go about that honestly. I've also tried to set up a TP-Link router, and I could never get it going. And I found SpillPass more appealing since he goes through multiple within a few minutes instead of every eight hours.

8 hours limit is per 1 access point (MAC).
You know, if you can change MAC address you just get the list and change pleasing one every time you need, right?
Also there are scripts that allow crontab to change MAC address automatically according to the list. Usually they change MAC after 30 minutes so you meet a lot of people.
I have found many issues with RPI and HomePass from driver locking up after first/couple uses like in your case, to not working at all and bridge expiring and unable to get up.
Only one what worked the best for me was raspipass 0.7.4 (with prebuilt iso) but still it could hang up wi-fi and I couldn't use RPI for other stuff.
It's in development so you can google for "raspipass 0.7.4" and check Reddit result.

Believe me, DD-WRT is way simpler to configure and works like a charm for me.

What is your Raspberry PI model and spillpassPI version?

Spillpass Pi2 and Raspberry PI 2,
I do know I can change the mac address, I just like the idea of setting it up and just letting it go without changing it up a lot.
I still have my TP-Link Router that has DD-WRT but I ran into a dead end with it and couldn't get it to work.
I wouldn't object to trying it again, though I wouldn't mind setting them both up.
Not to run at the same time of course, just to have the knowledge of how to do so.

For reinstalling drivers and hostapd config go to google maybe?
Type "raspberry nl80211" and read the results.

For DD-WRT ...
5 minutes of work, plain and simple:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/homepass-help-on-dd-wrt.365064/#post-6927458

- Follow the screens
- setup SSID to "attwifi"
- set up WI-Fi MAC ACL for security as network is open
- run command through router's command menu /telnet/ssh.

This is really such simple :D
