Sodium, lol. You take things too seriously. I am not mad. Laughing really. And your "if it works and their OK with it, why pester them so much?"?? He started this line of talk. The word retarded even came up. ANd he said his way is better. All of this is wrong and has no place in a board where we are tryin to fine the BEST solution not the most comfortable for someone who does not even matter. If you want to say that shit do it somewhere else. Why should we coddle those people? We should not. We should strive to make thigs better not make them comfartable. Like I said earlier, Why do people who are afraid of everything even come here? Why do people like Blue Fox start the same argument? "I DON'T WANT TO INSTALL A9LH" Who cares? You come to a place where we discuss up to date hacks and dig your heels in and say I want to be like it was two years ago. Fine. Do it. Do it by yourself. We don't care. Leave me alone about your fear and sit in your pinto listen to your 8-tracks. Or you can live in the now. You call us retarded? You can't even figure out A9LH. Your click bait is lame. AL9H is better in every way. Fact. You can even keep your Shitty emunand and destroy your sd. Stop whining about it. Shit or get off the pot man. But don't start the same argument you and your sd hating, scared ass wimps always do. Why do you post?
But that's the thing-
Best is a matter of personal opinion. If someone feels emunand is best for them, then they deserve the help. Plus the op never actually asked for any help, just why it had to be installed to 2 nands. We discuss "best" but his "best" is keeping it the way he currently has it

That's like me saying your setup is trash because you use shadownand and I use luma

And not to mention that their "best" is the most comfortable. If it wasn't, they would have changed already

As fewer and fewer people have a reason to use emuNAND, the use of it is sharply declining. At this stage its only use is for developer testing, and even that is somewhat less of an issue due to a9lh being able to load NAND utilities on boot. You really are only backing yourself into a corner using methods that are no longer supported for general use.

I mean, what do people use emuNAND for these days that isn't something you can't do on a9lh sysNAND? I haven't seen any reasons out there other than "I'm scared" or "I don't want to," which aren't arguments so much as they are feelings and expressions.

So u admit that both do the same thing, like I've been saying this whole time.
Therefore, if people don't see a major reason to install it other then "hey, you get to do everything from sysnand" then they wont
Which brings me back to its none of our business. If they decide to we can't force them

That's just it, though. You're performing extra steps to reach emuNAND and taking up your own SD card space, and slowing down your system for the sole purpose of... what, exactly? And heaven forbid, should anything break, it's your job to translate anything sysNAND related to emuNAND terms. Why would you put yourself through that?

They do it cause they feel like it. I'm not condoning the use of emunand nor a9lh, I'm just tired of going to any forum with someone asking some question about a9lh or emunand and someone saying the other is better. @mikefor20 is right in saying this forum is to discuss helping others, but arguing over which is better is pointless if both do the same shit. I am salty as hell, I admit it, not because if which is better, but rather b/c i see this argument everywhere

It gets to be the same as someone coming into the Wii hacking section and saying they can't load a game or get a black screen, only to find out they're using the original burned disc loading piece of homebrew, before any USB loaders came out. And then they complain of loading times, which USB loading sorted out, and then SD loading. We get it, folks have gotten familiar with emuNAND. Once again, unless you're a developer who's testing out custom firmware features or is making radical changes to things, it's just not for you. It's certainly not any devs who are asking about why they should/shouldn't keep emuNAND, anyway.

Please make the switch over to what's currently being actively supported for what your specific needs are, so that when you ask for more help, you can actually be helped. That's all there is to it.

I do agree that the argument is completely pointless, especially with all of the stickied topics we have now regarding this subject, and even go into detail as to what the actual practical use of emuNAND is, and why 99% of people should stop being so stubborn about it.

EmuNAND is an extra step to be completely safe. A9LH is not completely safe from nintendo. Technically, Nintendo can just replace the arm9loaderhax.bin file on your SD card. They have your OTP since it's on your SD card. If Decrypt9 can wipe A9LH, all nintendo needs to do is on shutdown, replade arm9loaderhax.bin with something that removes a9lh. This violates their EULA, but this is just one possible way. A9LH is not completely update-proof. Don't talk about it like it is

You guys are still arguing over this? A9LH is better. Not better for some people. Better for everyone. It just is. Don't cry about it.Why is everyone so sensitive on a video game board. You don't need to belong. Your feelings are not important to this conversation or this board except in EoF. This board is for video games. You cad use emunand in a9lh! How is menuhax better for some? its not! A9LH is the best,it takes less space, safer for the SD etc. There is nothing it can't do. Saying you are comfortable with your old shit is fine, Saying you don't care about all the extra problems and want to be lazy and or scared is your choice. But don't try to convince me its better. For anyone. You are wrong. The op called people who tell him to go A9LH retarded. He is the retarded one for staying on old, non-supported archaic crap. And a wimp cause he can't even bite the bullet and press install.. I have modded over 50 systems never bricked one. Its not hard. You are making it difficult.

Emunand is not completely safe. IF you are an idiot you can easily screw your system up using emunand. A9LH is safe. It gives you the ability to fix problems. Ninty could brick menuhax users just as easily as a9lh users, get over it. BUT IF you keep Luma up-to-date and you check before updating A9LH will keep you safe. There's no reason to be scared. They can't hurt you .

I personally use al9h + EmuNAND. The difference between A9LH Sysnand and emunand is that they cannot completely kill your entry method. If you use a SysNAND on 9.2 you'll always have an entry point. If you lose A9LH on the latest version of SysNAND, you're screwed. With EmuNAND you can always just create a new one or restore from backup because if you stay on Sysnand 9.2 you'll never lose your entry point. You ignore the fact that they CAN hurt you. Just because they haven't done it yet, does not mean they cannot. I have given a completely possible way they could remove A9LH. I am not talking about an average user, I'm talking for someone who prepares for the worst

Lets just close this thread by saying:
Everything in the hacking scene has pros and cons. The which is better question isnt a question type where you can just say ".... Is better, case closed" The answer can change from person to person. Like maybe I think a9lh is better (i do actually) and some other guy thinks rxtools is better. None of those are perfect. So please dont create another ".... IS BETTER DEAL WITH IT" thread and go back to whatever you were doing before this.
Can a mod please lock this thread (if not atleast change the title)
Now can I please go to bed its 00:18 in here

1. A9LH installing process can cause a brick even you following every steps of 3DS Bible, the guide even said this itself.
Although It's a rare case, it's still possible (See @Lilligant ). This is a flaw of A9LH.
You never get brick while doing your own doesn't mean others won't get brick too.

2. Luma3DS still supporting menuhax in lastest version. Why some people think this setting is outdate?
Yeah, it's not that great compare to A9LH (except the installing process). But dev still supporting it.

I agree with @Sketchy1 and @ScienceBETCH , Everything in the hacking scene has pros and cons.
What is better to them can change from person to person. If that setting isn't outdate, it should be fine.
Yeah, I still suggest people to go A9LH. But, if they don't want to do it, I won't force them.

And, again, @BlueFox gui isn't an OP here.

If they could bypass the FIRM patches that protect A9LH on SysNAND, it also stands to reason that they could break the EmuNAND patches.

IMO the only real additional safety that EmuNAND on A9LH provides is that you have an extra copy of your NAND in case something goes wrong. And a NAND backup, or using SysNAND but keeping an EmuNAND around both provide the same.

Luma3DS also supports mset but I don't see anyone suggesting that anybody continue using that as an entrypoint.

If there is someone using this setting and the dev still supporting it, I still consider it's not outdated. I still suggest A9LH because the benefits it has. But,if they don't want to do it,it's up to them.

Been gone from the scene a while. I'm on 9.0.0. I'd like to go to a9lh. Will I need to update to 9.2? I have a gateway and like the idea of having the extra space (sd card in the game slot as well as in the console means double the space). I assume I lock myself out of this?

You don't need to update to 9.2. Just follow https://3ds.guide/ and your good.
