Was on the a9lh step of the guide section IV step 3. I had booted into 9.2 from my backup and went to system update it froze on this screen with music still playing i had to turn it off. I can load into lum3ds menu and hourglass by holding start or select, but if im holding nothing it wont boot into anything and is just a black screen til i turn it off.
No matter what i do im getting a black screen unless its luma menu/hourglass9. Changing from my NANDmin(on 9.2) to 9.2 ctrtransfer doesnt help. Thought it might have been a corrupted firmware but its looking like it might be something worse. any other suggestions i can try, luma3ds errdisp shows nothing while booting.

I did do the puting the arm9loaderhax into the ctrnand step, dont know if that gets overwritten when you flash 9.2 to it our not, but either way ive tried it with and without and sd, and 3 different sds, and ran h2testw on the original one i was using and it came back with no errors
Did you have menuhax installed at any point? Restoring your NAND backup should have worked. Something else might be causing the blackscreen. Don't panic though, since you can load payloads and luma config, we at least know you're not bricked.
it was a 9.9 originally i downgraded it to 9.2 through oothax. then went through the 2.1 downgrade installed a9lh and then upgrading to my nandmin to 9.2. the first time i tried to update it through settings as oon as i clicked on update system and agreed the screen froze and it black screened. i then restored 9.2 ctrtransfer and my nandmin because the first installs didnt fix the black screen then one of the times it worked. then i updated normally to 11.2 turned it off, installed a few games and then it black screened again. tried restoring my nandmins and 9.2 ctrtransfers and ive been stuck on the black screen since. all while being able to use luma menu, decrpyt9WIP , and hourglass9
Did you set up the luma config like the guide said to? Wrong options can cause problems. When you had it working on 11.2, you said you turned it off and installed some games. You dont mean while it was off, right? Silly question, but you never know around here... Did you install any custom themes?
yeah set up the config it both the cases of no sd and sd to the tutorial. This is the third system im doing this to, but the first one with issues. And yes it was turned off when i removed the sd to put the cias on them
You said the blackscreen happened after installing games. Try making a backup of your Nintendo 3ds folder, then deleting it from the sd card. Maybe something you installed is causing the issue?
Edit: did you actually INSTALL the games, or just put the cia files on the sd card?

Try removing the nintendo 3ds folder then. You may need to do another 9.2 ctrtransfer.
