I have a 9.2 Firmware 2DS with menuhax, for some reason I can't get FBI to work so I can use savedatafiler so I can import/export Pokemon Sun and Moon save files. I can do pretty much any other 3DS game I own with JKSM, but since I only ever get a Yellow screen with it I wanted to try an alternative save program.

better switch to A9LH + Luma3DS and then do whatever you want, pretty simple

The guide explains everything in excessive detail.

Just follow Plailect's guide to have everything you could possibly need.

Okay for the Decrypt9 thing the first link gives me a blank browser screen, the other 3 basically crash the system, what am I doing wrong?

Okay suddenly FBI started working, how do I get to savedatafiler?

EDIT: keep getting "Failed to install CIA" message

Savedatafiler is a dev signed CIA file - hence the "can't install" because you're not using a dev unit (if you were, you'd only be able to install dev signed apps and not games etc).

There's a "properly signed" cia version which will install on retail consoles fine (I've still got the older version installed on my N3DS XL), but JK's Save Manager is leagues better than Nintendo's own offering (among other things, it allows you to restore "time locked" save files (ala Pokemon or Animal crossing) which Savedatafiler wouldn't allow (you'd get a corrupt save)).

You'll have to give more info here.

By browser, are you talking about viewing the Decrypt9 page on your PC [to download it]?

By "other 3" are you talking about options within Decrypt9 or on the guide?

I mean in the guide it gives 4 links to try on the 3DS browser to activate Decrypt9. The first one gives you an empty browser menu that locks up the system if you try to exit it, the other 3 just make it glitch out completely

EDIT: I made the File9 folder and both .dat files are on the root of the SD. Was there anything else I needed to put onto it?

Are they any files that would interfere with the process? I admit my SD card is a big mess of various homebrew programs in a desperate attempt to get Sun and Moon to work over the last week

This is the Root of my SD:

Folders:
3DS
DCIM
files9
GBA Roms
menuhax
mGBA
mmap
Nintendo 3DS
retroarch
saveDataBackup
SNES Roms
Themes

Files:
blargSnes
boot.3dsx
code.bin
Decrypt9WIP.dat
FBI.3dsx
FBI.cia
firmware.bin
Homebr3w.cia
injectionbug.bin
JKSM.cia
Launcher.dat
ramsav.bin
rxtools.dat
SaveDataFiler.cia
screenshots_raw.bin
webkithax.bin

My 3DS Folder:

Folders:
blargSnes
CHMM2
ctr-httpwn
Decrypt9WIP
FBI
ftpd
gpsp_libretro
hans
install
JKSM
manuhax_manager
mbba
prboom
qtm
scrtool

Files:
eshop.smdh
eshop
ironhax.smdh
ironhax
save_manager.3dsx
save_manager
sploit_installer_oot3dhax.smdh
sploit_installer_oot3dhax
sploit_installer_stickerhax.smdh
sploit_installer_stickerhax

Just tell me anything I can delete without worries, I don't care about playing SNES/GBA games or anything anymore, just need to know what programs are needed to run menuhax and a save manager CIA.

Nintendo 3DS - Home menu data/etc.
retroarch - Unnecessary
saveDataBackup - Unnecessary
SNES Roms- Unnecessary
Themes- Unnecessary

Files:
blargSnes- Unnecessary
boot.3dsx - Necessary
code.bin - I assume this is for Romhacking
Decrypt9WIP.dat - Depends on step in guide, should not be here prior
FBI.3dsx - Homebrew
FBI.cia - Delete then re-add when guide says
firmware.bin - IDK what this is
Homebr3w.cia- IDK what this is
injectionbug.bin- IDK what this is
JKSM.cia- IDK what this is
Launcher.dat - Guide will tell
ramsav.bin- IDK what this is
rxtools.dat - Rxtools user?
SaveDataFiler.cia - Unnecessary
screenshots_raw.bin - Unnecessary
webkithax.bin - Rx?

My 3DS Folder: -Doesn't matter, just replace what the guide puts in there.

Folders:
blargSnes
CHMM2
ctr-httpwn
Decrypt9WIP
FBI
ftpd
gpsp_libretro

Here is what I did specfically:

-I created the file9 folder on the SD card root
-I put the two .dat files on the root
-then when I go to boot the program via the browser the first link given gives an empty browser screen that freezes the system when it closes
-the second link give the message "Failed to load a part of this page" with a scrambled mess on the bottom screen that locks up the system
-the third link gives a message too fast to read and then also freezes with a scambled bottom screen that locks up the system
-the forth link has a white bottom screen with the message "Downloading ROP file GW17576.dat: failed" and lets you exit to the main menu with no problem

Get the latest decrypt9 release from here: https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9/releases Copy the Decrypt9WIP folder to the /3ds folder on your sd card. Run homebrew from your sysnand and start Decrypt9. It will not run from the Homebrew launcher on emunand.

Okay what is a sysand, I know this is a stupid question for someone with so many homebrew programs on their 2DS already. Also I found out that I actually have 9.4, because I'm retarded. How do I open up a .torrent file? I can't get to the 9.2 downgrade folder, the link given for the downgrade instead gives a file of that type

Since you are on 9.4, you will have to begin from the beginning of the guide. The guide will, once again, explain everything.

That was the issue.

SysNAND is the native system NAND. NAND is kinda like your system files. EmuNAND means Emulated NAND, a fake NAND that runs over your SysNAND. EmuNAND is outdated, and you should not use it. Use SysNAND A9LH + LUMA3DS. The guide will get you to the point if you follow it to the 'T'.

Open up a torrent file with UTorrent, be sure to look around resources for a good Anti-Virus before getting UTorrent. Remember to quit UTorrent after it downloads. Do not just 'X' out of it, literally quit it. For a future question I know you'll have, seeding is nothing you need to worry about, it means your download is finished (for the purposes you'll use.)
