Hardware what's a good laptop for playing hi end games?

for instance I've been wanting to get into overwatch and DOOM (2016)
but my surface pro 2 can't run them......(I know dumb idea to try them on a tablet/pc)
but anyways which would be great for those games?

Since the gtx10* laptop generation try to place his "too expensive" ass on the market, there is a lot of promotion on gtx9* generation.

For overwatch a gtx960m laptop would be enough but if you want more, a 970m laptop.
There is seriously no need to go higher with laptop, gen 10* laptop is way too expensive since they don't have real competitor.

But if money is not a problem, you can go for a gen 10* laptop, who am I to judge?

About CPU on laptop, you generally don't have much choice but you won't be CPU limited.

Edit: I forgot about this model "Asus ROG FX502VM-DM092T", dunno for USA, but it's pretty cheap for what's inside (in comparison to what we were used to with gen 10* laptop) in EU. It contains a 1060gtx.
But check between gen 9* laptop promotion offer and this one. You'll find your next gaming laptop.

With gen 10* the "way" start to fade but yeah, right now it's still better.

Ikr, not to forget that laptop with nvidia 1060 price is higher than the desktop and you can even build with i5 6600k and the 1070 and its cheaper by 100/150 euro here like 1100 euro. Of course everyone is free to buy whatever they want, no doubt.

True but I would add for around 1000 or so a maxed out HP Omen at 15 inches is pretty good but again it depends on the budget.

ooh that's right I forgot the budget, I have about say....1200 dollars maybe 300 (or at least I will by the end of January when I actually get the money from working 2 months)
