Yes and As I said thats a Homebrew Limitation

The point was people are saying its a hardware limitation which it isnt.


Older homebrew such as FTP used to cap at about 120-150kbs until the Libs got updated

now it caps at 1.4mb/s

Downloading from eShop will give you the same exact speed. Nintendo limits it themselves. If anything I'd say the n3DS will never surpass 3mb/s for any speed in general. Not writing to the SD, not transferring through network, not downloading from the CDN, etc. It's just in the hardware.

But that isn't to say that 3mb/s is terrible. It's actually decent, but the o3DS has an even worse handicap.

This is with the Samba share? I could never achieve that due to the limits of 2.4 GHz network cards. This is the hardware limitation people are talking about. The O3DS is even worse due to its many bottlenecks.

I'd expect the official eShop app to be faster tbh. Downloading directly from Nintendo's CDN from PC will get you 7-10MB/s... (at least for me)

To clarify: I expect eShop to be as fast as SAMBA (or even faster, because SAMBA has more overhead) on the same console, in the same network. It's not the case for me. That's all I was saying.
