I bought a N3DS XL off of amazon a while after it came out. I downgraded the system to 9.2, got ReiNand working, everything was fine. Well, it wasn't really, the camera didn't work, but I could live with that. about a year later, I decided to replace it. I have a mediocre understanding of electronics, so I was able to (I suggest you don't attempt to do it on your own, it was a living hell). Fast forward to yesterday, I boot up smash and attempt to add an amiibo, but it doesn't register. I realized that I disconnected the NFC pad. so I took it apart again to connect it, what could go wrong, right? well, it won't turn on. I've given up. So here's where the EmuNand question comes into play. Could I take my micro sd card from my dead system and use it in a diffrent n3ds? Would it be possible to 'merge' the original EmuNand with the new SysNand to trick the system into thinking it's the right Nand?

honestly the biggest problem is I beat pokemon moon and I didn't back up my save.

My idea is that I would be able to use GodMode9 or something to copy the system specific data from the new DS's sysnand to the broken 3ds's emunand to use it in the new 3ds. I had a registered friend's list, I had bought games from the eshop, I'd cry if none of the data is recoverable. I have a 2ds that doesn't charge (I discovered I could charge it's battery in the N3DS) if that could help anything. It's on 9.2.0-20U with rxtools running a 11.1 emunand. Honestly I don't know enough about this stuff to be of any real help, I'm just spit-balling ideas.

So you want to put emuNAND in sysNAND? Use https://3ds.guide/ That will setup a9lh which a hack that lets you update and use your sysnand as the main nand. It also gives 100% boot rate and unbrick protection. In the guide it will have you flash emunand to sysnand (put emunand in sysnand.)

Edit I read the post wrong. What your asking is not possible

well, no. I want to take the emunand from one 3ds and put it into the emunand of another 3ds. I don't have any way to do a system transfer, due to one of the systems being unable to boot.

I'm aware that I cannot take the emunand of one 3ds and use it on another. That's why I asked about 'merging' the emunand. All I want is friendlist/NNID/titlekeys/etc. My idea is to setup a new 3ds with A9lh and some data from the dead 3ds. I know I can use GodMode9 to extract data from emuNand, I was thinking I could extract the data I want from it, and inject it into the new 3ds. If I can inject FBI into the Health and Safety app, why can't I inject a few small files?

You should post photos of your New 3ds to see where the problem could be actually. Regarding your question, no, if you didn't get your movable.sed you won't be able to decrypt the data your original 3ds stored to the sd

oh. So I can't get moveable.sed from a nand backup? I guess I'll start extracting game saves from the sd card then.
