Ok, so I have a9lh and luma3ds installed, I updated my N3ds to 11.2 and now have a black screen on boot, by the looks of things I didn't update to the latest luma3ds before 11.2 update (not sure if this would make a difference?)

I have tried putting the latest 'arm9loaderhax.bin' from luma3ds 6.6 onto my N3ds memory card and still the same.

I cant seem to get into Decrypt9 using L + R on boot, nor can I get into the luma boot menu holding select, I was on Luma 6.3.1 and FW 11.1 when I updated to 11.2

I have now tried to do a hardware mod on my system in hope this will help, I have connected everything up and I am getting the BSOD on my bottom screen only with the following message:

BOOTROM 8046

ERRCODE:
00F800EF FFFFFFFF
00000200 00000000

I also have backups of my 9.2 sysnand_original, sysnand_a9lhax, emunand_original etc I followed the original Plailect Guide.

Please could someone help with this.

Thanks

assuming your hard mod is done properly then you will need to also have a compatible sd card reader (there is a list of compatible readers in the hard mod guide thread)

ps the system should only have the blue screen if connected to a sd reader, if it has the blue screen at all times then there is an issue with your hard mod and you should double check for shorts

shouldn't it also show up on both screens, not just the bottom screen?
I know one of the n3ds console has it only show up on the bottom screen, not sure if it's the xl or standard....bur yeah that's normal

( I don't really pay attention to the screens as it offers little insight anyway :P)

Personally, this is why I prefer Gateway over any CFW, hopefully theres a way you can restore you Nand

Messing with sysNand is so scary, I am still weighing up the benefits of CFW vs Gateway

You can still get emulators + roms on HBC for gateway but how much extra space would you get on system storage alone from Luma without using an SD Card???

Can you tell me what exactly you did that cause it to brick?because I have like quite the same set up(luma3ds+al9h and gateway) and updated to 11.2 just fine, now everything is working fine too, including pokemon S/M. Why would it brick just by updating to 11.2?

Actually, you CAN use al9h+luma WITH gateway and get the best of both world which I use myself. For as long as you don't randomly delete NAND titles, etc you should be safe, if you're worried about that just use BBM instead of FBI. For me CFW is crucial because I need the cpu clock boost plugin to boost fps of certain games(looking at you DMW2!), that doesnt seems to be possible with GW.

I bought a card reader that was top of the list, the blue screen only comes up when my 3ds is plugged into the card reader yes, but it is failing to list drive when I plug card reader into pc

ok so I tried connecting it back to my pc again this morning and as soon as i plugged it in my pc asked to format device, i selected NO, the i loaded win32diskimager selected drive G: (only one showing) selected my 'sysnand-a9lhax.bin' and pressed write, it then said writing to a physical device can damage it etc, so i selected 'yes' it then gave me the an I/O error, i tried again and i just get not responding from win32diskimager, it seems I am so close but something is not right :(

Take 2: so I rebooted pc n3ds unplugged everything and tried again, plugged n3ds into Anker sdreader, turned it on got blue screen on bottom screen, plugged into pc and it asked to fromat drive G: i selected no, loaded win32diskimager in administrator mode selected 'sysnand-a9lhax.bin' pressed write, it waited didnt say anything for around 5 mins i then get the error "an error occured while trying to write to handle, error 21: device is not ready.

You sure you didn't fuck up the soldering job when doing this? If you get a chance can you take a pic of your 3DS mobo (specifically where you soldered)

This has nothing to do with anything. You can perfectly use Gateway on sysNAND, with or without A9LH, and have the same problems and more; or use a free CFW on emuNAND, with or without a9lh, and avoid the same problems and more.
And as mentioned by others, why not use both Gateway and free CFW?
