I have the updated Arm9 and I used this method and it worked for me

I had the error code 026-6901 after trying a different method and this is the only one that allowed me into eShop. If anyone needs more information I will be happy to help

did this remove your old NNID or were you able to use it still

I have a Emunand.bin backup from July which is when I wasn't banned can I use this in some way to un ban me ?
I am on arm9loaderhax with Luma

3. Decrypt9 running on both.

If I have a new3ds banned and a old3ds unbanned will it work?

Too late now though, I now have a nice black screen and can't even get into recovery mode

Awesome tutorial Giodude, easy to follow and right to the point. I was able to harvest the LFS from movable.sed very easily using the Acraeus method from a long departed OG 3DS and am back to playing freely online. I don't give a crap about miiverse or eShop so I'm not going to test any NNID functions as I, for one, am done poking the bear with the stupid stick.

I can't even begin to fathom why Nintendo would keep the LFS inside movable.sed. I'm sure they never foresaw us having such low-level access to these files, but that decision has made life much easier for us dirty hackers while potentially screwing over a lot of innocents.

Honestly, this workaround is so simple, I think we might have fallen into another less obvious but more deadly trap.

It removes your old NNID and does not format the system. You cannot link or create another NNID ever again, but who cares? I personally have no intent of ever buying any more digital games from Nintendo after this mess.

Did this allow you to change NNID or create a new one? I unlocked everything but that ATM.

It allowed me to create a new NNID, it deletes everything on your 3DS regarding the NNID...

Do it format something? Is my Eshop then working again? (i have the 022-2812 ban)

Use FreeMultiPatcher... It may solve your issue.

How long ago was that ban, and how long have you been using the new friendcodeseed if you don't mind my asking? Just want to know how detectable this is by Nintendo, or if they even care.

That was about half-a-year ago, and I unbanned myself without using the friendcodeseed because I was only NNID banned, not console banned... I was still able to access online games, and the friends list. Anything with an NNID didn't work...

So many people lately have been reporting bans from playing sun and moon early, myself included. This tutorial will help get the 3ds working on the eshop and online games. I cannot confirm account based things like pokemon bank still work, but i would assume they do. Note that your friends list and games will still be there. Also note: you cannot access nnid settings after being banned, even after this method. You're eshop history will also disappear.

With that being said, here is what you will need:

1. the banned 3ds
2. An unbanned 3ds
3. Decrypt9 running on both.

Now here are the instructions:

1. boot up decrypt9 on the unbanned 3ds.

2. Go to sysnand options and dump you friendcodeseed_B

3. Put the sd card in the computer and backup the file you just dumped.

4. Not sure if i can share this, so i'll just mention where to get it. Theres a youtube video called [3ds] how to unban 002-0102. In the description theres a download for nnidsave.bin. Download that.

5. Now on the banned 3ds, go into decrypt9 and dump secureinfo_A

6. Open secureinfo_A in a hex editor. The very last line should be your 3ds console id. To confirm this, it should match up to the code on the back of your 3ds. Without changing the first 2 letteres, just change some random numbers and make a new id.

7. After that, put all 3 files you made/ downloaded in the files9 folder of the banned 3ds.

8. Go into decrypt9 on the banned 3ds and inject all 3 files. Congratulations your 3ds is unbanned.


As far as i've tested, the unbanned 3ds should still be able to go online along with the banned 3ds, but this is not certain. Also, just in case, do not share the friendcodeseed_B with anyone else, as i dont know what happens when too many 3ds's have the same friendcodeseed. Also if the 3ds blackscreens, that means your cfw is not compatible with the injection, but most are. If a mod could sticky this i think that would be a great help.

Any other opinions on this? I left my FC alone because losing all my 3DS friends is a bigger sacrifice than I want to make for a seemingly optional step, but I wonder if I've screwed myself with that decision.

No, FreeShop downloads are the same as the eShop
