Fun Fact: If you uninstall the leak with System Settings, it lets you back up your save, and then when you install from the FreeShop, it automatically restores your save.

All events will stop progressing, including legendary encounters. They introduced some kind of save version check in the game this time. I tested this with both cart versions and a Moon save.

Ya, you're right, my post game saved events stop working. I'm suppose to do the very first mission by tracking down the UB symbionts. I'm currently at the diglett cave but nothing is happening, the ultrabeasts are not appearing. The only hack i use is the 100% pokedex.

I heard somewhere said that , even with the new legit v16 Moon and V32 Sun, if you are using an old save from V0, it contains risk, since the profile are from before 18th. ANyone can confirm this?

That's what I was trying to find out.Apparently if you didn't go online with that save it might be fine.

Try using Pkhex to change my save date, it froze the bloody game xD
Are you importing it with jk save manager? A quick fix could be just overwriting the save by saving over it with the 16/32 versions.Ive been playing online for a day now since us release so it doesn't seem like any complicated edits are needed

Ok, time to chime in a bit and stop the spreading of misinformation.

First of all, the version is irrelevant. Version 0 simply means that you are using the cart version of a game. (And yes, I checked. Use FBI and put any pokemon Sun/Moon and it will give the designation Version 0) .

The leaked CIA obviously has a v0 designation because... The Cia was created from the cart. It is literally a legitimate copy of the cart.

Version 16 is the ESHOP version of Moon and Version 32 is the ESHOP version of Sun. That's it, that's all.

I still have the leaked version. I connected to the internet and it is fine. My 3ds is not banned at all. I can still connect to the Eshop and I tested other games.
I exported the save and transferred it to my cart that I bought today (which is once again version 0 as it should be). I played it and it was fine. Connected to the internet, made multiple trade and did a free battle with a player. I did not change the date (and it is useless to do so because it follows the internal clock of the 3ds, so time is not a factor)

But why did I not get banned at all? Because I never went online before the game was released. Not once.

Players happened to go on it (the global link wasn't even on and people still went) at the wrong time and paid the price dearly for it.

So for TL;DR, it is safe to connect online by using any form of the game.

So basically you are saying people where/ are getting banned for going online early, which would mean it had nothing to do with the leak.Well we won't know unless someone gets banned after release day,I'm not saying its exactly possible but people will want to decrease that risk by knowing after it happens to other people and make the right choices, however on the other hand people will want to take the safest route by using the eshop copy instead for as true as you may be.

Considering I've been playing the same leaked version today without getting banned, I can confirm.

And the version from my cart and the cia is identical.

If they banned by version of games, literally every cart that has been released in the wild and cia based on it would be banned and only the eshop versions would work.

This is clearly not the case.

If you want to know why so many pirates got banned using the same CIA, that's because they willingly gave themselves away by going online.

Consider this. Why did Nintendo do this immediately BEFORE the game got released and not after? That's because they cannot detect the games origins on whether they have been bought or not. In this case, it was so easy to ban people because they had all the proof they needed to disable their 3ds permanently.

Nothing says "I downloaded the game illegally" more than going online in troupes of thousands one week in advance. When the servers are occupied before a release of the game, you know something isn't normal. That was proof enough.

The banwave has passed and there has not been another case of banning in where the games have been released.
By this time of the posting I can still access all the features of the game and Eshop. From both my cart and the leaked version of the game. And that's because I never connected online with it in the first place.

People are saying you should be fine.Just to be shure your save isn't detectable though save over the backup with the legit game after you import your save before you go online.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I have physical copy and has the version 0. does that mean im not able to play online or if i do, will i get ban?
If you are using a physical copy with the version 0 you are good. The only risk is using the reviewer/leak CIA with the version 0,it doesn't exactly matter if its version 0 but the possability that its a possible flaged copy floating around while others are saying its not the leak that banned them but the fact that going online early gets you banned, however when they called Nintendo customer support they where told that they got banned for using a illegal copy of the game which puts us back at the possibility that the CIA is flagged since it was detected to be illegal.

I did that, after import my save file from moon leaked to my Physical Sun, I then saved the game and overwrite the imported save file. Am I fine?
