Hacking Installing CFW with Gateway post-Tubehax

OK after experimenting with R4 carts using my old NDS I decided to take a leap and purchase a Gateway 3DS two-cart package.

My current OFW for my 3DS is 9.2.0.19 so I don't think I have to downgrade, but following the instructions on the Gateway 3DS guide I have encountered two problems:

First, the Tubehax DNS 107.211.140.065 was unresponsive (I searched for an alternative and found the Chncdcksn DNS 104.236.072.203 on these forums). I was able to connect under that (good news!) but
Second, when I attempted to connect to http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php (as per step five in the walkthrough: http://www.maxconsole.com/maxconsole_files/gateway/GW-v3-7-1.pdf) I got no response. I tried multiple times but then I read this on the forum https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Tubehax



So I guess my question is now how can I install CFW on my 3DS without accessing the Tubehax exploit. I have my Gateway carts (red and blue, although I think the blue is redundant now) but I'm at a loggerheads, as the exploit Tubehax apparently used (through the old youtube app) has been sealed. I have purchased a physical copy of Pokemon Moon so was hoping I could play it without resorting to ROMs, I just like having the homebrew option open (wallpapers, rare ROMs etc). Obviously it's asking me to upgrade to the latest FW to play the copy I own but I want to get around this with CFW.

TL;DR how do I update CFW using Gateway without Tubehax. Which alternative exploit (listed here https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/3DS_Homebrew or elsewhere) would be the best (preferably simple install) given my current firmware (9.2.0.19), Gateway 3DS red cart, want to update my 3DS with CFW without bricking (so I can play my physical copy of Pokemon Moon) Thanks

Don't bother with the Gateway Setup instructions. Plailect's guide is the definitive guide to hacking your 3DS

Follow it to the letter. It'll take you from fresh out of the box, to a fully updated CFW environment in which you can play Moon.

Once complete, getting Gateway working is as simple as renaming and copying a single file to your SD card.

You can use the browser to launch Decrypt9 to downgrade to 2.1 and go right on ahead with your arm9loaderhax installation
