Okay, just in case the ban is indeed permanent: does the 2nd 3DS (the source of the unbanned FriendCodeSeedB) have to be the same region as the one I'm transferring to? Is it possible to install A9LH/Luma3DS/anything necessary on a 3DS with a non-working touchscreen?

For what it's worth, since the game came out in Australia, at least EU consoles should be in the clear going online now (since EU/AUS is the same, you can access either eShop from both).
If i'm not mistaken pokemon is rf by default and if the digital download is out in one region presumably there's no risk regardless of location now no?
Then again we're all banned here so our input on what's safe is worthless

So from what I can muster from 200 odd pages of shitposting, the only way to unban from the 002 error is the LocalFrendCodeSeed_B injection from an unbanned 2/3DS system?
Is it confirmed that swapping the WiFi modules unbans the 002 one?
Im not fussed on the 022 ban, never use eshop anyways.

Game is not being sold in EU until the 23rd though?

Would that render the device that was clean beforehand useless then? Or will both be able to access internet?

I'll wait till they dump on release date, too paranoid... lol
Today IS technically release day. My GameStop starts selling them at 9pm. That's 9 hours from now, others countries as stated already have it out legit. If the game is out in your region and you bought it, you can play online. If they DO ban you, just call and send the the receipt+cart serial and pic and they will unban you. I'm pretty sure the "wave" is retroactive at this point since we are past launch. Anyone who plays online in a country with legit releases are safe.

Physically - I would think the e-shop is set to release at the same time

You select your region when configuring the 3DS so I would expect if it's set to the EU countries outside of Aus that it would not work but I can't test that :p

So, seems like the easiest thing to do instead of calling Nintendo or freaking out is to just buy a new mobo for like $50 and replace it. Cheaper than a brand new system and doesn't involve taking anything from or needing a second console.
