Alright guys, wonder if you can help.

I have no idea about this stuff. I have had a wii with the homebrew channel on for ages. It is on 4.3 in the settings. I have a bunch of wads, and I have managed to get them from my SD card to the actual Wii. It only stores a dozen games though, and I have almost all on the VC. I have another 32GB SD card, and i'm trying to move the games to the SD card and run them from there. I moved them over, and they show, but every time I click on them it says "failure to load."

Is this just the case? Is there another program or app I can load onto the system to get them to run? As I said, I am very rubbish at all this, so I literally need it spelling out like a child. I saw on a video something to do with DopMii, but the link I saw to download it said it could brick the system.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you want to load vc/wiiware games from the sd menu you have to patch the system ios (as you can see in my signature), and in youre case is the IOS 80 for 4.3.

Patch it with dop mii (not the wiibrew version) or simple ios patcher and they will work fine, i have 72 games on my 4GB Sd card.
Don't touch other IOSes or delete the 80. Just patch it.

Cannot check the link he provides but the homebrew and the instrcutions are correct.
In my opinion is best to select 249 instead of 80 just after the homebrew is booted, then follow the instructions as they are showed and then wad from sd menu will work.

If the link he provides is down google for dopmii v16 by 2devs (not the wiibrew version, cause it cannot patch ioses)

Awesome. I;m just concerned as there is nothing on the homebrew channel when I boot it up. Just the screen with the water, bubbles etc. There are no programs like the ones that he has in the video (bootmii etc). Should I have those installed too?

Yes. To install apps just extract them from their zip (or 7z o rar) file and then extract them in sd/apps
Most of them are with three files: boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml, then for each app you must have a subfolder with a different name inside the sd/apps folder with these 3 files.
For example, in your case:
sd/apps/dopmii/ the files are here
sd/apps/anyappname/ the files are here
Sd/apps/anyotherappname/ thenfiles are here
You cannot see anything because you didn't copy the old sd/apps folder from thenold ad card to the new 32 gb card, copy it and all the homebrews thatbyou had in thenpast will be shown on the homebrew channel. Once you did that, copy the extracted folder of dopmii inside sd/apps and you will see dopmii too.

One question because i don't understand one thing. You've changed only the sd card, right?
O you are using another wii either?

Ah. Slowly getting there. I was copying stuff over and it didn't work, and with some trial and error dopmii is now showing on the homebrew screen.

I do have an issue though. When I press home on the controller there is an option for bootmii there. However, when I click it, the screen just stays black and the wii CD draw flashes continually...I have to hard reset to get it back again. I wanted to do the backup wii nand step so I don't brick it as i'm messing about with it. Is there a way to sort this, such as a new bootmii version? Or do I not need to bother?

This happens because you didn't copy from the old sd card to the new the bootmii folder that must be placed in the root of your sc card. This folder must contain: armboot.bin, bootmii.ini and ppcboot.elf. Just copy the folder and it will work fine.
If you erase the folder reinstall it using the hackmii installer (you can find it googling "wiibrew hackmii installer" then place the extracted files from the download into sd/apps and boot the installer from the hbc) to reinstall bootmii ios.

I'm struggling with the priiloader though. I have downloaded a file called "preloader master" with other files inside it. Can't really see one with the options you have given me. Do you know of a more stable version, or can you link me to one?

I didn't copy anything from the old card. I was given the wii years ago by my brother, just because it had loads of copied games with it. I didn't mod it or anything. I just recently read about putting the wads on it, and got the app to do it and managed to get that onto SD along with some wads and get them on the system. I was just running out of room, and fancied the idea of having all my wads on an SD and just loading them from there. So as for the root of the SD card, and placing the bootmii folder in the root of the SC card, I don't know what that means.....hehe. I'm not that clever with all this. I essentially have one SD card that I downloaded a program called wiimod onto, along with my wad files. Then I bought another 32GB card to put all the wads on and run them from there. I didn't actually do any of the original modding (I have seen something called firebomb is it, which you upload the homebrew stuff with?)

Would you recommend essentially starting from scratch? You are a great help, it is just hard doing this on a forum.....hehe. Can I copy this bootmii folder from the wii to the SD card?

Hold on a sec, i need to correctly understand the situation, you took some wads from your brother, then installed them into your wii and them moved them to the sd card?
And i need a system check for your system to figure out your situarion, then i will help you with both priiloader and the nand backup.
Please google for "SysCheck HDE v2.4.0 HacksDen Edition", put the extracted folder onto sd/apps (as you did before for dopmii) and the boot it from homebrew channel, make a system check, and choose to write the report. Then take the sd card out of your wii, put it in ypur pc and in the root of the sd card you will see the report. Open it and copy and paste here all the results under a "quote box".

No. My brother sold me a wii that had the homebrew loaded on already. I had some wads, so I put them on a mem card and tried to get the wii to recognise them, but it wouldn't. I could load them to the wii console memory, and get them onto the card, but when I click the wad on the card it gave me the error. Give me a moment and i'll so what you have asked.

Ok, i got it onto the card, ran the program and at the end it failed to save. It said something like "mounting the SD card" and then a big red cross and something to do with fat system?

WP_20161118_001.jpg Here is the red cross screen. It didn't save anything to the memory card.

Shit. It seems that he doen't like your sd card. You can try using another sd card (load the app with the current card you are using, then swap it whenever you want once the app is loaded, because in that moment is running from the wii's ram, not from the card) or you can make some screenshot with your phone and post them here.

EDIT if you press A it shows you the report? I don't understand if u have that errore when is trying to write the report on the sd or before, when is checking the system. If the error is related only to the writing of the report in the sd card, you can make some screenshot with the on screen report.

Here is the report. I took pictures.

Ok. Seems that your HBC is and old versions, and you miss some IOS or are outdated, you also miss the cIOS if you want to load wii and Gamecube backup games from USB. We can fix all of this thing, plus the priloader update and the bootmii nand backup.

I must go out right now, then i will help you later after dinner with the other things, now we will concentrate on the IOSes.

From the homebrew channel load dop mii IOS, then at the beginning select IOS236 instead of 36, press "b" to proceed with the selected option, select "ios, bc, mios", then following the on screen instructions update IOS 36 from rev 3351 to 3608 WITHOUT apply any patch.
Then add/install IOS 62 rev 6430 WITHOUT apply any patch.
In the and choose to reinstall the IOS 80 rev 6944 (same versione that you have already installed) choosing to APPLY ONLY the "FakeSign (Trucha) patch"

Now your wads will run from sd card menu.

Still no luck. I installed the first two as you said with no patches, but the IOS62 is not there. It goes 60, 61 and then 70.
