ok, this is all fine and nice. but i have a problem. haxchi works well with Yoshi Island DS USA, but i wanted to edit the apps meta file, to make it look more like a proper hoembrew channel. the problem is when i first tryed to upload a icontex.tga file or something from wupclient to wii u app. it worked from wupclient side, but when i reboot wii u i find ? mark icon instead of yoshi island, and title is now "???" i try clicking on it, and it say something like wrong data, or deleted data, so i need to reinstall game and delete. how do you all do this changing of boot icon and bootlogo and bootsound? for me, the app ceases to work if i try something like that! please tell me the secret recipe.

I obviously know this, thats how I could test and port it to other versions. Now there are just not enough DS keys around for me to take a look at certain ones like yoshi touch and go for example.
You can use that program to convert extracted files to NUS...
I can't believe you overlooked this...

You can't change thr bootLogo.tga and bootMovie.h264. The hash is beeing checked on starting the app
I saw a video posted in this thread earlier where someone had changed the bootLogo.tga to say homebrew instead of Nintendo. It was late last night so I could've been dreaming though.

For people editing the iconTex1.tga how should i be saving it?

16, 24, or 32 bits per pixel? alpha channels?

I can use other peoples iconTex1.tga, however anything i do in Photoshop causes the game to corrupt and show up as "???"

Edit - I saved my Icon as 32 bits per pixel and the Wii U was happy with it :)

Flatten Image then save as 24 bits per pixel with compression off.
