Hello dear gbatemp users. I need help - looking for henkaku release 4 on the internet. I have formated my memory card and before that changed vita shell on the developer shell (VitaRW). Now I have problem to boot ftp because of it - is incopatible with release 5 and 6. Only solution is find henkaku release 4 on net and change this trouble dev shell to normal. Any ideas? Greetings.

I don't think VitaRW does anything permanent? Just rebooting would have reset the permission to normal. Also I'm not sure how that would affect ftp working, you probably have some other issue going on there...

Yes, VitaRW makes permament changes on the system. I have tried multiple times restore system and format memory card. That havn't helped...
Just look at this: https://twitter.com/yifanlu/status/773234616270397440
No backup...
It's error: (C2-12828-1)
Saved Core File Succeeded.

Sorry I think I misunderstood what you wrote, you replaced your shell.self with the debug one? Again I don't think VitaRW makes permanent changes, but if you used it to replace your shell.self yes, that's permanent and a different story. I believe you should be able to replace it again with the original one? There is a link here for that, I don't know if the link is working as I'm at the office and mega.nz is blocked: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?p=412951

I activated VitaRW to remove the "Featured" app on the PSTV, following this Reddit post,
https://www.reddit.com/r/vitahacks/comments/50r9hm/tutorial_how_to_permanently_remove_the_featured/
Is there a way to shut off VitaRW now that I've deleted this app? Do I need to reinstall my firmware?
EDIT: Also, I'm having no issues running Henkaku 6 but I wanted to unmount these partitions anyway.
For the record, reinstalling isn't a "factory reset" or anything, it's more like doing an "update" to the same version.
I don't have a proper answer, but keep that in mind.

Again guys, I might be wrong but I believe simply rebooting should set the permissions back to normal as stated by other people before:

It doesn't go away. I still have permission to view vs0:/apps (and I assume write permission also).

Are you talking about VitaShell? VitaShell shows all the partitions since at least 0.3 http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=44890.
Anyway non point in arguing, if you believe you still have write access to those partitions, just don't touch them. If you can't trust yourself on that you should have probably avoided running VitaRW.

It didn’t list the apps folder in vs0 till I activated VitaRW. Maybe it’s read only now (but still visible), I’ll need to check.

If there is no easy way to unmount these partitions, that’s no problem for me. I just wanted to know if it could be done.
