Hardware NES Classic Edition remote adapter to USB?

Hello, as the NES Classic Edition is coming next month, I am wondering if there could be an NES Classic Edition remote adapter to USB so I could emulate NES games on a computer. It has been confirmed that the plug for the controller is the same as the one for the Wii nunchuck. I wouldn't want to buy the controllers from Amazon because they could feel cheep and not as nostalgic as the classic edition controlled.

just wait befor ordering anything.....maybe you dont even need a usb adapter...MAYBE we can hack/hardmod the nes mini to play more games(yes i know what you gona say, but who knows whats realy inside that thing)

I'd rather get adapters so it could still support the original thing it was intended for instead of modding it.

We don't even know that we can hack the NES Mini yet so don't assume it hell it's not even out yet

Without someone having looked at the device or the specs there is little point in speculating.

If it is the same connector, and connector design is a pain in the arse so if they have one that works and has been proven reliable (I don't know if I have ever heard of one going, however unlike charger ports it is not as likely to be brought up or cross my bench when the remotes were otherwise so cheap) then it is certainly a reasonable thing to see, then there is a breakout board, a bit simplistic if you fancied a simple adapter or extension socket like we have seen for other consoles for years but it will get the signals out

The wii was seen to use i2c which is one of the more common chip to chip communication methods. To that end you can probably find some means to convert if it is that, however just because it is used there does not mean it is used here (plenty of four wire communication protocols available after all). If you wanted to buy such things in ahead of time and maybe rig up some ways of reading i2c (available on some scopes, probably a bunch of usb devices and the classic thing we see in these circles is the bus pirate http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate ) and whatever else then you could probably sort it out yourself with relative ease -- it is likely not a massively complex two way logic but simple button presses. Bonus points is you might even be able to make a way for you to have rapid fire, speedrun style button combos and the like for the nes mini.

Even without all that you could head down the following path http://www.instructables.com/id/SNES-Teensy-USBPS3-Gamepad/ , such things work for basically any controller when all is said and done. It does not necessarily involve cannibalising the controller but if you are not going to do that and try to have it all integrated it is harder.

That is the basic electronics answer, others have given the more practical ones though.

Yeah that's what was around in my childhood, but when I was considering a purchase last year, I was more tempted by a Famicom, just for style points.

retro stuff is expensive now because of the scalpers. you either have to have good money or just have kept your old stuff. retro usb used to make some nes usb controllers so does infinitenes live.

Isn't scalping when you buy up limited amount of stock in general or in an area and sell it on at a higher price? Resellers might be the word you are looking for.
That said I would sooner look to a lot of people having considerable disposable income (a solid 75% of my friends over 25 don't have kids and as such do occasionally want to replay some old games and happily drop less than a night out money to have it appear on their doorstep three days later), fairly limited original runs compared to the amount of people playing games now (vgchartz I know but they would have to be wildly wrong for http://www.vgchartz.com/analysis/platform_totals/ to add up to another conclusion), the less than indestructible nature of things (more than once I have heard the line "didn't have a video cable so I chucked it"), the somewhat disposable nature of things at various points in time* and a greater ability to sell (if your previous options were pay for an ad in the paper, have a yard sale, set up a stall on a flea market/car boot sale/rummage sale/.... or hope you know someone down the pub that wants it), .

*I too recall the times this was such and accordingly you could pick up loads of old games for nothing, and often the comment was I am glad you got it else it was going down the dump.
