Try a different SD card, and check in Windows that your SD isn't failing.

Missed the model... Bruhhh.... you bricked.....

Here is someone else with the exact same issue: http://gbatemp.net/threads/plailect...a9lh-installation.444095/page-2?_params=Array

Looks like OTPLess is not perfect, unfortunately there is a small brick (unknown, could be user error, sd card, random..??). although Ive done it on 2 N3DS USA and JAP with no issues.

If you use the right files double check one more time, open issue ticket to SafeA9LHInstaller git repository and explain what you did/what files you used.

Does recovery mode work?

Unfortunately at this point I think you need a hardmod to fix. Unless you can boot into recovery, then you can use DSiWarehax to re-downgrade and try again.

If I used recovery mode what version will my 3DS change to ?

The latest which is 11.1, but the guy in that thread with the exact same issue couldn't get into recovery mode. Save that NAND backup now more than ever, you may have to hardmode9 it.

Yeah crazy to think we had the same problem with the same exploit and the same partial downgrade truth be told it could be a problem with the exploit we used maybe? freakyhax?

You tried installing on a partial downgrade?

I've used freakyhax on both of mine, here was my story:

Part 1) Downgrade failed first time, then worked second success. (You have to succeed downgrade before you move on!)
Part 3) SafeA9LHIntall showed black screen when I tried to open from HBL. Worked second attempt without any issues.

Could be sd card size, format, random luck, it's unknown at this point but there has been like a 5% brick rate [some where due to previous installer which did not check sd card].

Same here with oot3dhax

I agree they should try to sort that out when they found the problem

Yeah, I feel bad for those fails, hopefully it get's debugged soon.

There is a well known hardmodder in the UK, @gamesquest1, he can patch things up for you with a hardmod if you have the NAND backup still.

Pretty much was looking for a service since hardmod is complex for me at the moment and that is pretty much the guy I found when googling and yeah I do have the NAND backup thanks for the recommendation anyways :)

Aren't you still supposed to format before downgrading? (I haven't done one since before the CTRTransfer became a thing but I used the OG DSiWare method when you had to patch the NATIVE_FIRM on the PC) Just a guess but I've seen a lot of frankenfirms/soft bricks because people fail to format before/after the process. Pretty sure it's necessary to make sure you're working with a clean SD and clean NAND to avoid incompatibilities. You can totally soft-brick from having an SD card with bad sectors, or an edited HomeMenu etc etc.

yeah looks like its another a9lh brick, i did identify what seemed to be the cause of a bricked console for someone else basically for a few seconds of the process your 3DS is in a dodgy position where the keystore is tweaked, the system then soft resets and finishes the install, its at this point where a random ill timed freeze can result in a brick as a hard reset while the keystore is "tweaked" results in a bricked system, but yeah a nand backup and hardmod will get you back up and running
