I've had my 2DS for a while with CFW and never got around to creating a NNID. I wanted to make one since some stuff on the eShop requires a NNID, when I tried to make one it freezes on the screen after the Nintendo Network ID settings button is pressed and then kicks me out back to the home screen saying an error has occurred. Does anyone know a possible solution?

I have a 2DS running Luma on the latest update

Yes it is possible to create an NNID on a CFW 3DS/2DS. Unfortunately it doesn't solve your problem... When did you hax your 2DS? Are you using emuNAND or sysNAND with A9LHAX?
Are you on 11.1 and latest Luma files.

I have a feeling that maybe some system files could be from a previous version and when eShop sees that it boots you out.

I got my 2DS in around June, I finished installing cfw/luma/a9lh prob around in june/july. I believe its sysNAND im using with a9lhax, i followed Plailect's guide.

Ye im on 11.1 with latest Luma files

I wonder if re-installing the 11.1 cias would fix the issue. You could also try maybe backing up you NAND and do a system format. With the new system try to create a NNID then flash back you old NAND and sign in with your NNID. If not you may have to downgrade to something like 9.2, update back to 11.1 and see if that works. I have a feeling something is botched in your system titles probably something like a franken firmware but its just a hunch.

Make sure you do your research and have multiple clean backups of 11.1 NAND, 9.2 NAND and OTP.

I was thinking about the format thing but wasn't 100% the process of system format. If i backup using hourglass9, do a system format would I lose the cfw/boot option into hourglass9 or would everything still be there?
