World of Final Fantasy gets playable demo on October 17

Square Enix's upcoming title, World of Final Fantasy, will be getting playable demo next week, on October 17th. If you finish the demo, players can unlock Magitek Armor P, which they can use in the full version. The game is set to release for PS4 and PS Vita on October 28, 2016. Square Enix has also uploaded the game's opening cinematic to YouTube, which you can watch, linked above.

The playable demo will allow players to experience Lann and Reynn in their Lilikin and Jiant forms, meet various different mirages and encounter a selection of iconic FINAL FANTASY® characters along the way, including Cloud, Lightning and Squall. Completing the demo allows players to unlock Magitek Armor P in the Coliseum to battle and capture in the full version of the game.

In addition, the full-length animated opening cinematic for the title was also revealed - showcasing the heroes Reynn and Lann, as they set foot into the magical world of Grymoire, battling menacing Mega Mirages and fighting alongside legendary FINAL FANTASY characters.

It's a shame that it is mandatory to update the PS Vita to be able to play it.
Besides the piracy aspect that is of course not beneficial for Sony, all the great homebrews for emulation, cheating, overclocking, save manaagement and game decryption to be able to translate games that weren't localized will not be able to be used anymore.
My PS TV is now of so much more use than before, simply becuase I can play more bought games on it.
I personally won't buy another Vita just for some games that are forcing me to update, a PS4 slim seems to have more benefits as most games are semi-exclusive anyway like World of Final Fantasy.

That's nice to get a playable demo before the release :)
I think I'll buy it, but the demo will determine if I'll buy it or not. I hope it will be good (my wallet hope it will be bad haha, so much games I want in last quarter2016)

None of what you mentioned is beneficial to Sony, if they wanted people to run homebrew on their system they would've allowed it to begin with.

I only wanted to say that the update was only really necessary to counter piracy, homebrew violates the terms of use, but I personally don't think of it as really damaging any sales.
@EvilMakiPR according to Yifan Lu even by forcing the launch of a game that requires 3.61 it won't work as they changed some parts of the encryption.
Yifan Lu said that either one had to find the actual encryption keys or to find a completely new kernel exploit for 3.61 which won't happen for the next months/years.

As long as it requires 3.61 yes.
There are a lot of great games that require 3.60 or below though.
Downloading those will also not force you to update as long you use Henkaku to access the PSN.

There's always the possibility that sometime in the future someone finds a way to patch the games to a lower firmware. I'm gonna buy it either way because I have more than one console to play on.
