So, had my CFW perfect on my comp with the help of a very nice person I met here. Everything was working fine, until today when i took the sd card out to put a CIA file on it. When I put it back in the 3ds, it just kept saying micro sd card could not be found. Then I put the sd card into the computer, and it instantly says it needs to be formatted. Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed? Does this mean I need to format it and start all over again? I was only able to do it because the extremely nice person I met here walked me through it step by step. Really hoping there's a way to somehow recover the card.

Possible that it is nkt safely removed.
Ifusing a9lh, just pasteback your bin file

Else if emunand, then you are sool

You can try to recover from a raw filesystem with getdatack If you really want to try. Given that your card is not totally fried.

Yeah ended up having to format it... Seems it isn't as simple as just copying and pasting the back up files, as the card is no longer named "GATEWAY" or whatever. Just removable G:

Volume name doesn't matter. Also, make sure you eject the card properly. This is how hardware gets damaged.
