@Crystal the Glaceon There is that fort42.com website that has gateshark and spiderhax codes, i guess is possible to convert them like how @GalladeGuy guy mentions, honestly i hate using the debugger, since it freezes on me, i guess i dunno what i am doing but i did it twice on two games to see if i can get max funds for all unlockables in blazblue continumm shift gallery and project cross zone 2 for items, i tried to find max money for protect me night and i never did, cause it freezes a lot.

Can someone make a app or plugin to just manually edit and insert cheats like action replay or gameshark or code breaker without needing debug on pc? If it can easily convert spider hax or gatesway cheats, i'll finally be happy, reminds me of PSP tempar pro or cwcheat. :)

Due to Gateway's bold promises and lack of updates, the general idea of this PSA is good when aimed towards the average user, saving them $60.

For ROM hackers/researchers, however, Gateway's .3DS loading is very handy. I find myself frequently loading modified ROMs, sometimes 2-3 with slightly different changes at a time. Installing these as CIAs, or running with HANS not only takes more time, is less convenient, having to juggle saves around.

Gateway's cheat engine is far superior to NTR, although for the average user, it may not be worth the money for just that.

Once they are sent out, they tend to be buggy and based on extremely old code that they stole from other developers. And worst of all these aren't isolated issues, this is almost every update where they add a "new feature." When Gateway3DS added "Timemachine" and "Fastboot," they stole the both the downgrade tool and then created their own modified version of A9LH v1. This is bad, but worse knowing that using their tools actually caused n3DS's to brick and still comes with a much higher brick chance compared the community projects they stole from. Despite these issues, they took months to pump out these features and claimed that they were tested before release. The actual A9LH version of Gateway 3DS only works on A9LH v1, which means that it requires extra effort just to get it work on A9LH v1. As well the A9LH version of Gateway 3DS lack an form of FIRM0/1 protection, despite allowing the user to boot into sysNAND mode. Which means that updating your sysNAND will brick your system and you will need a hardmod with a NAND back up to repair it.
Gateway Fasboot hasn't been released yet. It's like no one can understand this. It's still a private beta with a very serious warning saying just that. (Although I agree with your next point saying that it's outdated.)

Gateway 3DS still requires you to use an emuNAND.
I use mine on Sysnand frequently. Only thing is to use Luma to update.

Brick code! Gateway added a brick code to their product to brick clones. This means if you accidentally bought a clone Gateway 3DS, it will brick your system. No warning, just brick your entire system. Because fuck you, that's why. Seriously though, this is not an ok practice. Their code can clearly see when a cart is fake and could easily just prevent people from launching it, but instead they break it.
I haven't heard of anyone buying a fake Gateway. I have heard of people buying flashcarts that steal Gateway's work, like MT-Card. Don't forget to give blame to them too.

Next up, that high price tag for very little payoff. Like I said before, you are paying upwards to 80$ of this product. Which would leave one to hope that they are getting their 80$ worth out of it.
I got mine from Modchips Direct, so $80 is either an exaggeration, or the result of the dealer.

If you already have a Gateway, then reconsider using it. Sure you spent money, but is it really worth it?

I recommend using a combination of Luma and Gateway. Guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-with-gateway-on-v2-a9lh.431691/

hhmm yes very much of this is true but to be honest i think it was 100% worth my money. super easy to set up emunand (i prefer having an emunand than cfw like luma on sys) and the cheat menu is way better than the ntr cheat menu in my opinion. if you want to be a big code creator and user get a gateway. thats really the only reason to have one anymore

I love my gateway, I have 64gb in GW card and other 32gb in console, a9lh + emunand and the option of use sysnand with different firmware, if I found a low price gw card, maybe buy a spare.

I am not much for 3DS hacks, so I really don't have much input on this. The only hacks I do run are Bravely Default/Second uncensored.

I said it was good, but not worth paying for.

It's still something you can get on their main site. They may label it as "Private Beta," but they still released it.

Yeah, that still doesn't mean it's a good idea to update when it lacks FIRM0/1 protection.

I've read one case on Reddit, although I can't seem to dig it up, so it was most likely a fake claim or extremely isolated case. True, buying a fake like MT-Card is an issue, although not as big an issue nowadays. The only fake Gateway on the market was DSTWO+, but they recently stopped using Gateway and started using their own stolen reiNAND cfw called "FreeCFW."

I got mine from Modchips Direct, so $80 is either an exaggeration, or the result of the dealer.
"Upwards to 80$" as in you can pay up to that amount. That doesn't mean it's the stock price in all marketplaces.

I mean there is that route, if you still really need to get something out of your money.

I don't the point of your post. I mean, is there any reason why to continue buying the card when there's plenty of better options for free?
Or are you just commenting because my post is against people spending money on a product when they can get something better for free?

while the "lets bash rxtools" thread was kinda fair enough, gateway still has its uses that are still not matched or surpassed by free cfw's sure for the average every day use cfw is perfect, but gateway comes in handy as a kind of middle ground for rom hackers/ cheat creators to test stuff out before pushing it to the masses
hello im a ghost quote
i will sell you one for $90,000 so you can add that to the OP, "sold for upto $90,000!!!!!"

i dont think anyone at this point who is using GW needs a lecture on the usual "arrghhh gatesways has cooties runnnn!!!"

My points are completely valid and based on facts. Nor are either threads bashing anything. I am stating facts in an effort to help the community, not hinder it

And your other point is just pointless. The cart is indeed sold upwards to 80$, that doesn't mean it's the stock price everywhere. And I am trying to stop people from buying this product. If their system can work with Gateway, then it can work with a free CFW.

but it not your concern if people use it. (i dont want to be mean )
Actually it is my concern because I'd rather help the community than encourage them to spend their money on a bad product. I am trying to help bring the community forward and products like the Gateway 3DS only hold us back.

this is why i'm still using it

I purchased it in late 2013 for $58, this was well before all the good stuff came out and was locked to 1 rom per microsd
anyway after all these years lots of stuff has been released, the card software was updated many times, to add new features and support
as of now I am still using the mset exploit on 4.5 o3ds xl to boot latest emunand firmware, all games work, I have cheats, and I don't have to waste time installing cia's
Everything is simple and works, I see no benefit going to free cfw when I have everything I want and considering all the games I "obtained", that $60 was well worth it

who honestly has bought a gateway card in the last year.....certainly nobdy on gbatemp i would imagine, the only people that would would have to be totally inept at reading even the 1st google result on hacking 3DS's, your lecture is acting like

A) people still buy gateway cards
(they don't, at least people who do 5 mins research before buying wouldnt)

B) people who already have one will stop using it because you say so.
(most people still using it either dont care about the "facts" or use some of the gateway features that cfw's dont offer yet)

C) that people are still suggesting people go buy a gateay card.
well now thats just BS, i dont think i have seen a single person try encourage anyone to buy a GW card in the last year,

just because something is list at $X doesnt mean you just say and you have to pay $X when there is countless other places that sell it for much cheaper, thats just cherry picking info to make things look worse for drama's sake, if anyone wants a GW card at this point they could probably easily get one for a fraction of that price......but i guess that doesn't ruffle enough feathers

Expect people still buy it and people still use it.
Just because people don't care about the facts, don't mean I should give up on trying to help the community. And honestly, fuck off about the damn price already! It's being sold up to 80$, just because it's sold for less, doesn't mean it's not sold for more.
I edited the post to remove the price tag from it.

The post about rxTools makes sense because Luma + the apps ending in 9 can do everything rxTools can do but better. However, there are still things Gateway can do that free CFW can't. It may seem to you that these things are not worth the money but that doesn't mean everyone shares your value on things. You shouldn't force your own opinion on others. When it's factual, fine. But when it's clearly just opinion, then no.

For example, I don't think much of jewellery. I can't understand why someone would pay $1,000 for a cold dead rock that does nothing useful. But I don't picket jewellery shops trying to convince people not to go inside because it's a big trap and they're going to waste their money. Obviously other people see something of value in it that I don't.

What would have been better would be a post like, "thinking of buying a Gateway? Get informed" in which you would lay out what Gateway can do and how the alternatives can do the same thing but better, but you would also mention that their chat system is better. So people can make an informed decision about whether they are willing to spend the money for the main things which are worse but have a better cheat system.

but your not helping the community, your just trying to lecture people, sure if someone comes along and asks for help/advice, the
