Hardware Gameboy advance backlight

Today I have modded my GBA with AGS-101 screen and it worked perfectly. Anyway, screen seems to be a little bit dark. I guess it's fine, but still, i thought it would be much brighter. Comparing it with brightness of 3DS, it's like setting 3DS to 2-3 brightness settings.

What do you guys think, is it ok like that or it could be much brighter?

I've made the same mod on my GBA and the brightness is perfectly fine in my opinion.

Hmm wondering what could go wrong... Thinking about soldering that wire to upper left leg, but since backlight is working, i'm not sure if there will be any changes. Just don't want to mess up my console.

My brightness level is similar to this one, could be even the same. Doesn't seems really bright, what do you say?

where did you buy the parts to mod your GBA i cant find them any where online and i just recently bought an original GBA

You can find it on aliexpress, look for ags 101 screen

I just compared mine to yours. I think they are similar. I didn't solder anything or adjust the trim pot.

I have soldered mine long time ago and it made huge change. Screen became much brighter. If your screen is a little bit dark, then i would recommend you to do that.

I brought a Gameboy Advance Console Black backlight AGS 101 on ebay only a few days ago. Personally, I think the lighting is just fine.

Ebay has a tone of mod kits available for the GBA.
