We already established why this didn't work on IRC; he's attempting to change a string in romfs, in a MSBT, which obviously will not work. Corbenik only patches code. I don't understand why he's still even attempting to do so.
I have no idea what a MSBT is but u do know what ur talking about so have a like [emoji14]

Cakes works after the update, but I didn't update with Cakes.

I would also like to report that all patches survived the update.

You're still using 11.0 firm at the moment; that's why most stuff survived. I'm honestly dumbfounded nintendo hasn't updated the FIRM requirement in HOME, even though they updated HOME.

I digress. Things need to be tested on the newer NFIRM. At very least, all the loader patches survived.

It's a storage format for data in the romfs.

Btw, if I update to 11.1 and keep 11.0 FIRM, NTR will keep working right?

Sadly, no. The HOME menu was updated - even if the firm would work, NTR can't hook itself into home without downgrading it (ick)

So basically this update is a repeat of before when 10.4 was used as Native FIRM for 10.5+? Just 11.1 is using the same as 11.0?

I'm not attempting anymore, this post dates before I asked you on IRC

Pretty much. Even more fun facts; 10.4 FIRM still works with 11.1. I do not grasp why Nintendo hasn't fixed this...

Maybe they're bored? Or lazy? Or aren't get paid so they refuse to fix stuff?

Maybe they just gave up. A9LH has them cornered, so they can't stop that. The most they can do now is slow down future hackers.

They could stop the hardmod downgrading by stopping 10.4 NFIRM working on 11.1, but no, they decide to keep the door wide open for reasons(tm)

There's anyone getting stuck in a black screen with 'Homebrew' written in white using The Homebrew Laucher v1.2 cia with Corbenik?

Edit: Forget it,I just remembered what I did last time that happened in v1.1

OK. Can you share the secret? This way, when I eventually get stuck with a black screen in HBL v1.2 CIA (with Homebrew in white), I can use your experience to improve my experience? :)

Well, if you never used the 'Dump Code Section' and 'Load Code Section' in corbenik you don't have to worry.

The thing is that I forgot the 'Dump Code Section' activate after I dumped the ones I wanted and I used the HBLv1.1 and dumped the data (and some days later I remembered to remove the option). After I installed the v1.2 (with 'Load Code Section' still active) when I tried to open HBL and it tried to load the files in the SD (which was from v1.1) and these files were incompatible with v1.2, so the HBL stopped to work.
It was a really stupid mistake.

I tgink yes i have take thé tools on .deb and install this im not sure for host gcc tool its inclued on toolchain ubuntu?
Huh, I set my PC, running Ubuntu MATE 16.04.

I installed gcc, g++, GIF, curl, libtool, automake and installed devKitPro using the Perl script.
I also built and installed the latest libctru (git clone, make install, ofc)
After cloning the Corbenik repo, just do

./autogen.sh

./configure --host=arm-none-eabi

make

Try to set up your env. from scratch?
