Evidently Nintendo found a way to break this app, which lets you access online services like Miiverse on lower firmwares. Is there an updated version of HTTPwn which restores this functionality?

NNID services like Miiverse, Pokémon Shuffle, Nintendo Badge Arcade, DLC shops in games etc are working just fine for me, after running CTR-HTTPWN.
I'm on 11.0 firmware though, are you suggesting much earlier firmwares aren't working with this trick now?

Yes, that's pretty much what I'm saying. I'm at 10.7 right now. Admittedly it's been a while since I updated either the Ocarina patch or the Homebrew Browser; could one of those be an issue?

Maybe update the hbl and download a newer HTTPwn release

Maybe consider installing the Menuhax exploit on 10.7 whilst you can, and see if running CTR-HTTPWN this way via this entrypoint is successful.
I use V*Hax as my entrypoint and it works just fine.

I mean you're also on the right firmware to do A9LH installation, so there's that too.

The latest release is 1.0.1 from March, there isn't anything newer.
But if 10.7 and earlier truly is blocked, a new version might be warranted, I dunno.

Updating the Homebrew Browser and HTTPwn seemed to do the trick. I didn't realize I'd downloaded HTTPwn long enough ago that it even NEEDED an update! March, seriously? Well, it's taken care of now. Thanks!
